Yeah I changed it. I haven't really properly looked at the text for years, but the idea of it is to not have one or two riders two stats above any other. If there's a number of riders on the highest stat there is no reason to not allow to go one higher.
Btw changed the Baltic chain profile. It was always intended to be a cobbles race, it was a sprinter's race only by mistake. |

I'll get these done on Sunday, I'm away until then.
One question though, is there a salary limit for the U23 team? Thanks.

Didn't find anything stating a limit, but also wondered why the column was included. Don't think there's a limit, though.
However, I noticed that the phrase "These riders will also benefit from the U23 team but not as much as other riders." for stronger/older U23 riders is gone. Is there no more difference anymore if they ride for U23 or main team?
@Bikex: Would it be possible to update the links in the Checklist thread to the 2021 season posts? Currently, the posts from last year are linked there.

I regularly update the checklist, it's as current as it can be (actually, there's a little something Bikex changed on the sly and I only just found out, will change that now.)
I think there used to be a salary limit in the U23 (back then the min wage was a lot lower than 100), but there isn't one anymore.
As for that missing phrase, my guess is it never made that much sense, because good results contribute to development and 23 year olds will do much better in the U23 than CT let alone WT.

Yes, there used to be a salary limit of 1000 but that was quietly phased out a few seasons ago (possibly because of people making massive scouting bids on young riders and not being able to fit them in the U23 cap).
@Ripley I think the idea was that riders with an AVG over 70(?) didn't benefit as much from being in the development squad as riders with a lower AVG, since they would be guaranteed of getting good results (due to lack of tough competition) and benefiting from that.

Thanks bikex. Looking forward to kicking off the season. It will likely be a bit slower than last season in terms of reporting but we should still manage to keep a relatively good pace. So far I think dominox and I would do the reporting, although I have also remember that there was some interest from some users to do some races, would be great to know if the interest is still there.

I gotta add that I'll definitely do this slower this season as I don't have that much free time to do it nowadays. We will of course try to keep steady pace so you won't feel left behind with huge gaps between results uploads. |

A slightly slower reporting pace would probably be welcome.
I've handed in my race selections and research. If anybody wants any help or advice, feel free to PM me.

I'm away from Friday for some time and would like to upload the race planners before that. So I'm going to set soft deadlines for the research tomorrow and U23 selection and race selection on Tuesday.
It won't be a big problem if you miss the deadline, but in the case of research it will be required to specify the rider you want to use the pack for right away after and you won't have priorities in the race selection. U23 selection will be done by me if I don't receive anything by Tuesday. |

Got the biggest (and luckily last) finals week of my life ahead of me, so it's naturally been the worst timing to do these tasks, particularly because this is now a collab project with my nephew which doesn't help fitting it into the schedule.
U23 and research will be done by then, race planning will be hard to fit in without affecting my exam performance.

Will be tough for me to have my main team race selection done by Tuesday, but I will try. Might come at night my time though

For my CT race selection can I just reuse my 2019 file with Peiffer in for Chaves, Albini in for Bennett, and Geissler in for Siskevicius? Kind of nailed it then

Regarding the race selection it's fine if it comes a little bit later but then you might miss out on some races. |

After fixing the links in the Checklist (thanks, Fabianski) I have now updated the top post in the Info&Links thread for the 2021 season and also updated my Beginner's FAQ further down in that thread. Sorry for not updating it more regularly, a few things were outdated again. If anybody has any ideas what else to include in the Beginner's FAQ or indeed either of the sticky threads, drop me a PM.

Happy to do any race selection/planning for the unmanaged teams again if that helps.
@Jandal This is just the race selection phase, you don't need to decide who to send to which races yet. I can imagine the race days for each rider would have changed a fair bit since then anyway (especially pot 6 & 7) so it wouldn't be as easy to replicate an earlier season's schedule.

Assigning Research
Other
Please PM me the names or IDs of the riders you want to use Potion of Youth, Fitness Trainer, Recalc and Potential on.
Training
To assign Training packs, download this file: https://www.mediafire.com/file/pe7cje....xlsx/file
How the file works:
#1 Copy columns A-E of your riders out of the DB and post them in the table TEAM in A2. Next to them there will now your riders stats appear.
#2 In the table Statpacks you will find your statpacks. There is a column "ID" post there the ID of the cyclist that you'd like to get the boost. In TEAM the stats will be updated and you can check what changed.
#3 Send me columns B+C of your statpacks out of the table statpacks.
As a little help you can go to the table StatsNew and in columns S-AE you'll see how much points of every stat for a rider are missing to improve the stat by 1. |

Sorry a little bit later than I wanted. If you manage to send me your assignments before Thursday, the changes will be considered in a database update before I upload the planner. Else it might take a little.
Some have already sent me the riders they want to use their research on. I have recorded (I think) all of it, you only need to send a message if you want to change them. If you want to be sure you can also resend the message but normally shouldnt be needed.
In case anyone is wondering about the training packages from Credit Suisse. I last had contact with Vali shortly before transfers and he's quite busy at the moment. But he was always someone to send in any tasks as one of the first and I know he had plans to train Villella. I felt like it is fair to use his remaining budget to keep his team competitive in case he returns. |
