Hope Remco doesn’t win since he didn’t flip one of his #13 upside down!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Evenepoel really saved QuickStep's face in this classic season right?

Thank you, Remco, for attacking from far.

That is a pretty impressive win. I'm not the biggest fan of Evenepoel, but can't say that huge win wasn't earned 100%.
Nice classics season honestly, from what I've seen. Wish Van Aert could've sniped another monument though Smile

Yeah, I'm not really a much of an Evenepoel fan either, but hard to argue he didn't deserve that one.

It was an entertaining classics season for sure. Felt like a lot more riders were willing to try from long range, and they were surprisingly successful. Interested to see if that trend continues going forward.

Yeah, great ride by Remco. Must admit i was starting to wonder what type of rider he actually was. He was starting to look like a pure TT Specialist in the same mould as Ganna with a bit extra on the short hills. After his win at San Sebastian in 2019 he hadn't really done anything of note in any major race for the last 2/3 years. Obviously he had a major injury set back in that time, but yesterday shows he really is the real deal and will be a major contender at the major classics for years to come.

He just needs to sort out his brattish behaviour to make him a bit more likable and work on his mountain skills so he can contend in the major stage races and even Grand Tours.

Really disappointed that McNulty couldn't start yesterday. I was looking forward particularly to see what he could do in an uphill TT like today's.

Gilbert won in Duinkerke today. Good for him, he deserves a in before retiring at the end of the year.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Just spotted that Francisco Mancebo is still capable of a Top10 on Mount Fuji - at age 46! Who needs Valverde? Pfft

The fact that Tour of Japan doesn't have quite the same standing and participation IRL than in MG is a minor detail Pfft

Don't @ me after the time trial. Pfft

I think Küng made quite a jump in general. In spring, he was stronger than ever before - and I guess riding in your home tour can give you some extra motivation, too. Another factor could be the weather; he often rides well in "not optimal" conditions; while that's definitely true on rainy days, I guess he can also do really well when it's hot.

And the last and maybe most important factor: due to all those Covid-related abandons, the peloton by now is probably weaker than ever before in terms of climbing. Yesterday, the mountain trains didn't really drop a lot of riders (I couldn't watch today's stage tbh).

But yeah, yesterday I was definitely impressed, but I guess today his limits came a bit clearer. With a (much) longer TT, he could still have targeted the podium, but I guess already a Top10 is massive for him. And I guess he'll be the only Swiss in the Top10, as Reichenbach's TT skills are close to non-existing ^^

G for the win, obviously. Which I don't like, but well... Too many competitors dropping out early... I still think Vlasov could've taken the Swiss double this year.

Sagan tested positive for Covid again. He and Gaviria are neck-to-neck in this race, that’s at least three times for each. Wonder if more riders will drop out before the final stage…

With only two weeks before le Tour, I'm afraid to see some big names drop out because of Covid. It's spreading again in the peloton.

I'm some days late but I saw right now the reason of Lampaert DSQ, the way QS outplayed Wellens is really unfair, no chance that this DSQ balances the real damage. Shouldn't Tim being awarded of 2nd place in the intermediate sprint?
