Seeing Petr Vakoc winning a monument is all surprising, wonderful and annoying in one package. Congrats Scorchio!
Disappointed a lot with Sagan's Ardennes results this year.

Questionable choice to have Benoot working for Gerts instead of the other way around. But, this might be Gerts' best performance here so I guess that's worth celebrating.

Waeytens amd Preidler faded early, luckily Pons step up and made our best ardennes result.
Congrats Scorchio and thanks for the report! |

Formolo has been mister consistent lately, 7th is again pretty much what would be fair to expect from him here. He might've started his sprint a bit too early, but you could also argue that it was worth a try.
LLS, you're on fire as a reporter. Thx for the great work!

Pains to see that Mohoric ran out of gas again with only few meters left and by that loosing a podium position. However with ranks 4,4 & 6 he was quite consistent this ardennes week, which I'm content with. Only the one very top result was missing in the end.
My depth here didn't really pay off with only 3 riders in 23-25. Gidich especially should've done better. He would've probably done better as the outright leader of the team.
Would've been cool if De Bie had done the triple. Can't say he didn't try but in the end probably didn't choose the right tactics. Vakoc is really a surprise. ISA with multiple monuments won already. Who would've thought! Congrats!
And finally thanks for another thrilling report, LLS!! |

Actually I think this is already great depth! That`s basically spots for one rider each team but you have 4 already in that top25.
It`s a lot worse for most other teams, that despite depth are missing riders even inside the top100, e.g. Carboni for my own team here but more Aidan for Festina etc. |

You're not wrong and actually is not a bad depth result (even though after those 3 my next rider is already out of the top 50). But I still think a better scoring of the riders after Mohoric could've been possible and even likely. For that Gidich (or Roglic) only would've needed to finish top 15 like he did in the other ardennes races, where I had a weaker team. Also 4 in the top 25 sounds much better than it actually is if 3 of them finish 23-24-25.
In total I cannot complain about this result, but it's also not better than I could've asked for. |

Sincere apologies to Kelderman for bringing him to PCT and lower and spoiling his career.

Mager took Zimmermann's breakaway role here, which was nice to see. Being represented at the front in all four of these puncheur races is as much as we can expect with Demare not wasting race days for them and Madouas still gaining experience.
Speaking of, Madouas was the best-placed rider for us here in a pretty good 32nd! I hope he can challenge for Top 10s here within the next three years, if I manage to stick to my training plans.
Two more Top 40s by Vasyliv and Mager give us 15 points above minimum, which I like.
And I really like the winner here! Congrats ISA. After coming so close at Flèche, this was the cherry on top for Vakoc. Monument winner!
For me, the real surprise of the Ardennes was Trakhov though. Extremely consistent well above his weight, 8-6-5! I wonder what his future will hold.

Very good result for Evonik with Lopez delivering strongly here. Also strong showing of the rest of the team with Polanc and others (Budenieks?) helping control the favourite attacks on the way to the finish line.
But despite all of that, there is a slight aftertaste about the result. A victory would have been so so great as it is the remaining monument we've not won yet. Well, gives me a good reason to continue for another year
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Trakhov's Ardennes classics points are must needed in the fight for survival 8th, 6th and 5th; really happy with this.
