Going decently well so far, would like a podium place though.. Padun needs to be more aggressive in the final stage!

Alarcon is doing really well, let's hope he can keep it up. Great day for Carlsberg and lovely AI to see Guldhammer responding like this.

Well done, Spilak! Obviously can't win a sprint from that far, but to still finish second and move up to second in GC is very nice. Although it could definitely be doable for him to win the GC with bonus seconds on the last stage, I fear that stage might go to the breakaway. I'll gladly a second in GC though, so have to defend against Alarcon and Padun now. Also hope Maksimov at least joins one sprint tomorrow.
Congratulations to Carlsberg on a deserved stage win, and thank for the great report to Ulrich/LLS!

Shaping up to be an exciting finish.
Arndt owes Rumac a beer keeping him in the race lead. This is great to see as Rumac has the same job for Nerz in ToA.
Up to 2nd in Teams and Helme still 2nd in young riders. Looking good for points from this race. Will Zabel join the party?
Congrats to BBL and thanks for another great report Ulrich/LLS.

Guardini continues to have a disappointing season, in this race the team has done everything to put him in a good position, but he still can't even finish in the top10. The next stage will be the last opportunity in this race.
João Rodrigues has been doing a very interesting race so far, it should be difficult to keep 12th place in the final stage but if he manages to finish in the top 15 it will already be a positive result, Montoya has done what I expected from him.

Meh. I kinda like that breakaways get a chance on a flat stage in a race like this, but I also wouldn't have minded keeping the team classification lead for a bit longer I guess it's fair though that Stallaert is considered a big enough favorite for us not to send a rider in the breakaway, and we certainly don't have the team here to bring any breakaway back on our own. Congrats Assa Abloy, a really nice result

We win the sprint in the peloton when the breakaway takes it... Yeiy.
Arensman with a top 5 though.

Terrific result for the Curacao Cannon! Awesome to see Lvl. 1 Cannister already have a chance to shine and ride for himself. Not strong enough yet for a win, but put in a great effort to secure another podium for the team, and the very first of his career. Smart by the team to put a guy in the break since otherwise we'd have to chase for AKA, and tomorrow is a long day anyway. This way we get a podium, save our domestiques bullets, and AKA still did decent enough in the minor placings sprint to move up to a provisional 2nd in the points jersey. Another happy day for us.
Congrats to Sykkel_Freak!

God Van Staayen has been absurdly bad... can't decide if this was awful planning by me or just the limitations of a probably inconsistent rider like him given the stat profile.
That said, Garby, good results from him keeping up with the more climber based groups, been quite happy with his performances as an alternate leader just managing to pick up points here and there.
And thanks for the reports LLS |

^^ just the sprint AI. MVS, Guardini and Zabel as the top sprinters have all just been lead outs for weaker sprinters here as Ewan and co have been in other races. Nothing different here. Tactic going forward is to have one mediocre sprinter and no riders to form a train and you should be good to go.

That's a completely catastrophic race for my team. Ilno had a puncture in the first stage, and Selling doesn't want to sprint basically, if they have a chance to take sprint or KOM points they don't care basically. Why are they even racing? I hope the last stage can at least be much better.
thanks for report.

I would've prefered Biermans to attack with that flat skill, but 3rd is ok. Somehow I feel Novak should like that last stage, let's see where we end up.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Seems like Spilak didn't have it in him to attack the yellow jersey today. A second in GC is nice, feels good to have a strong result again. Maksimov not joining sprints thus not scoring any points is not as positive, but it seems like weaker (less stacked) PTHC fields are more his thing (and that of Manninen as well so far). Thanks for the great reports to Ulrich and LLS, and congratulations on a very nice win to Kraftwerk! Also congratulations to Bralirwa on a great African stage win

Decent last stage, and another ok result for us in the GC, nothing more. Was hoping for action with a strong squad here. Or maybe our team just isn't strong enough!
Congrats to D2B and thanks for the reports

Probably not the smartest move to wait that long for the attack, but I'll take 6th in GC. Thanks for the reports!

Honestly a very lackluster stage result from Guldhammer given the profile and how much the team worked, but it seemed like the AI basically didn't care about hill stats too much this race. Alarcon in the top 10 and in general the stage racers without any punch did just fine if not better on this stage and stage 4. I mean, you look at the points classification and Alarcon and Novak are up near the top despite only one mountain stage.
Nevertheless, we move up to 8th, which was the most realistic GC goal coming into this stage. Below expectations, but we lost this race on stage 3, still kind of inexplicably. The team kept working the whole race as if we were a favorite, but Guldhammer didn't really act like it. Maybe the lack of climbing depth is what did him in ultimately.
It was a far cry from Warbasse's win last year. But 8th in GC and 2 stage wins means we won't leave empty handed. Points wise we wished for more, but it was nice to see AKA continue his good riding and to see Guldhammer's first win for us.
Congrats to DTB and huge thanks for the reports!

Cheers for all the thanks and Happy New Year to all the Man Game Managers. Congrats to cunego for the stage win.
Thanks for another Toto-ally great report Ulrich/LLS
Fantastic result for Kraftwerk - Arndt finishing 3rd to win the points as well as GC a very large cherry on top.
Helme managed 3rd in young riders and we got a rather distant second in Teams.
I have even forgiven Zabel it was so good

What a great way to start 2022! Happy new year everyone!
Could not have asked for more in this race. Ndayisenga seems to love this race, second stage win in as many years for us here, the first time we every won something in the same race in two years. Then Eyob defending his 10th place and both Uwi and Ndayisenga in the Top 30, great depth.
Congrats Dave, great race by Arndt! And thanks of course for the reports!

We come away from this race with a really good haul of points. Alarcon survived the hills way better than I expected and did what he had to on the mountain stage. So that gives me some optimism for his other races, which will all be less favourable with TTs and tougher startlists.
Thanks to Ulrich for the reports and to LLS for posting them
