Unfortunately in Belgium there are a lot of bike crossings where the cyclist has to stop and let the cars pass first. Maybe things are different in Denmark, I seem to recall they have excellent cycling infrastructure there?

Just pop up to morn the loss of Cris Anker.
Today some 500-600 people came to his old club in his hometown, to take part in a memorial cycling event.
Rest in peace, you meant a lot to many in the danish cycling community, both those at the bikes and those in front of the telly.
Good luck in the worlds tomorrow no matter who we may support.

Well, if Qhubeka didn't die last season, then it's almost likely that the team will meet its demise at the end of this season. NextHash turned out to be cheeky con artists.
But I'd blame Doug Ryder for this entire mess. He should've moved it down to ProTeam status (it works out all well for Alpecin - Fenix), but nope...because muh World Tour.

Finaly there is an (8-day) Tour de France for women! Unfortunately too late for riders like Van der Breggen, Blaak and D'hoore, but better late than never!

Kicking off with the classic Champs Elysees will feel a bit strange as a Stage 1, even stranger for it to have a QoM point. Stage 2 is simple flat, want a more detailed close up of the finish as it could be opportunistic. Stage 3 is nice and punchy towards the end, should be ideal attacking terrain especially for the womens peloton. Stage 4 has dirt roads & lots of bumps, this could be a sensational one to watch. Stage 5 is notable for its 175km distance, a full 40km longer than anything else this far in the race, but fairly flat day (i foresee a long range breakaway here between the lumpier stages). Stage 6 is begging for attacking racing. Stage 7 diving into the Voges and the Grand Ballon, this will be terrific to watch. Stage 8 ending the race atop La Planche des Belles Filles (would have liked the penultimate climb ~10km close to Planche) will be epic.
This does genuinely feel like ASO are trying to make Le Tour de France Femmes feel like it's own fully support event, and not a TdF Hommes add-on. This is especially true with the Start here being on the End of the TdF Hommes, a great choice. Proper mountains, and multiple of them, mirroring some of the TdF Hommes route with unpaved roads on one stage. Some lumps, some sprints. Feels like an excellent test of the peloton.
Hopefully the support on the ground from ASO matches this excitement, as does the prize money! Not on par with the Giro Donne as the top end of women's GT substitute but a strong step. Can't wait, looks and feels amazing!

Sounds like an amazing route, can only echo your sentiment when it comes to the prize money, I don't any can expect equal splits but the split from PR should never be repeated.

I’m so tired of La Planche des Belles Filles, not sure if this time they will climb from a different side or not but it ain’t that much of a spectacular summit. Plus, being so early in the race and considering the following stages it doesn’t seem like it will be an exciting one. Hope I’m wrong though.
BTW, nice course for the Women’s edition, should be quite exciting and unpredictable (if AvV or Demi Vollering allow it  ) |

Looking at what they make in sponsorship return I couldn't disagree more. In sports where women generate more money they should be paid more, in jobs where they do equally they should be paid equally and when they generate less it's only reasonable that they receive less. Equality does not equal equity in my opinion.
It's nothing against women's cycling, it's just the same logic as why football players are paid more. They do not "do more" or are "better", but sports is a place where this public attention dictates the salaries/prize money and that is fair to me.
