Everybody commenting about Pogacar’s nuclear power but has he ever made 12 riders finish outside the time limit on a time trial like Anna van der Breggen has at the Giro Donne? Cool

She is absolutely the closes thing we've seen to a Merckx since Merckx. Btw the Giro Donne has been excellent so far and should be watched by more of you!

I would make a solid bet on Anna to do the Olympic double, but the odds would be so small to be pointless

And Demi Vollering is the next big thing. She is absolutely awesome. At least from my point of view.
Also, Mavi Garcia's sportsmanship at the Spanish National Championships is one of the highlights of this cycling season. And not only.

Demi isn't the "next" big thing, she's a big thing now Pfft

And as i the Giro Donne is being mentioned: please don't use PCS to look up the results. The sites inflammatory and passive-aggressive tweets on the matter yesterday (and the way basically every womens cycling fan, participant, twitter user etc slammed them for it) are good reminders why it's a site i barely use anymore. Instead go to twitter, look up womens cycling media, riders, DS's, or the Giro Donne itself, and get the full story of the race and results in great entertaining detail! #rant

Fabio Jakobsen just won stage 2 of the Tour de Wallonie, incredible seeing him raise his arms nearly a year after his nasty crash. Smile

I woke up early and the only interesting thing I've seen so far is Thomas crashing, which would have happenend sooner or later anyway

Awesome race by Juan Ayuso at Prueba Villafranca - Ordiziako Klasika. I was sorry to see him finish 2nd, but a great result nonetheless.

Lost to Luis Leon Sanchez, who celebrated his first pro win in May 2004, when Ayuso was around 18 months old. Pfft Generational rider too.

Indeed. But I do hope Ayuso will be greater. Smile

Anyone aware if the San Sebastian will be on TV anywhere in the UK? Eurospy don't seem to be showing it despite having about 8 channels at the moment for the Olympics Sad

I think only on Eurosport Player, they are fully focusing on the Olympics these two weeks.

Only had the chance to watch it now, but what a win by Powless! He put everything out there on the road. Followed the right moves, made his attack on the climb, got caught, solo'd again after escaping the fall, still relayed, and then won a sprint against two guys who are usually significantly stronger on the flat. He was against the odds and he did everything he could to win. It paid off.

Awesome to see him break through, hoping for more where that came from!

I'll be honest, I love the look of Volta a Portugal this year. It seems there is no flat stage nowhere in sight. Let's see how this edition will unfold.

Also, Bernal and Adam Yates fell yesterday in Vuelta a Burgos and they're out of the GC competition. The attitude of Gonzalo Serrano on the finishing line is something I hate to see. I know it's part of cycling races but I'm not pretending I am fond of this part.
And let's not forget these crazy images from yesterday's stage.

Curious to see how the Movistar guys do in this race, first time in a decade (since Lampre 2010 or 2011) that a WT team takes part of the Grandissima. Samitier and Carretero should be aiming at a decent GC (that is top-15/20 Pfft) while I’m expecting a nice attacking spirit for stage wins from Abner Gonzalez.

It's very good to see Movistar in the race and maybe more WT teams would take part in the future. I certainly hope so.
Abner Gonzalez had some very nice results lately so I am very curious to see how he fares in Volta. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him to get another good result here. I also think W52 Porto looks like the strongest team, but I might be wrong. Smile

Can’t believe it has been nearly three and a half years since Romain Bardet’s last win, but he is in flying form and just won in Vuelta a Burgos. Best I’ve seen from him in a long while.

And he won despite taking a fall on the final descent. Fortunately his fall was milder than Bouchard's and he got back on the saddle very quickly.
