THIS IS THE GIRO WE LOVE
What a stage. Incredibly performance by Almeida, so close. But Martin deserved it.
Caruso doing his best Basso impression is the italian rider we did not deserve. Allez! |

I know, I know. I'm a hypocrite after complaining about breakaway wins the whole race. But that is the type of breakaway win that I like (not just cause it was Martin). The gap was never big enough for their to be two separate races. Martin just had to be strong enough to hold them off, and he was just barely able to do it, completely solo! Wow.

There's actually nothing not to like about this rider. What a performance from Martin. |

For one, it would be the most hilarious of the trademark INEOS/Sky bad luck at the Giro - unless your name is Tao Hart. |

They're definitely better, but he's no Bardet either. But in climbs, I think the best Barnal could be on par with the Slovenians. No |

I want to boldly declare that Pello Bilbao now wins this Giro. Or finishes top-3.
Of course I meant Caruso.
Tremendous race he’s having, yet to have a bad day, would glorify his career as a solid teammate (that also landed him several top-10s). Happy about Martin’s win despite Almeida’s P2, but he’s a fighter and love that aggressive spirit. Another one joining the 3 GT winners’ club. |

Pulling back over 3minutes on stage 20 is going to be a big ask.
Caruso is closer...but I dont think Caruso has shown he can get Bernal to crack.
Bernal still the overwhelming favorite to win it all.
If I see Astana leading the peloton early on stage 20 I am going to scream. |

Iron Dan, a spectacular win!

Yeah, and today's stage, similar in relief, also turned out to be cool

Bettiol has been riding incredibly, hope he can win today, looks like he can reach Cavagna. |

Nice win for Bettiol on a day that suited him. Cavagna just went too early and too hard there.

I wonder if Bernal's back issues are starting to flare up? I could see a 3 week GT accentuating that issue. Either way, Go Caruso!!!

Yates looks strong, but this feels very reminiscent of Skybot days, just staring at the power meter and rolling up the mountain. Not sure Yates will gain much, if anything, unless Bernal really cracks.
