Dan Martin has disappeared into the dust, bye bye GC. Thought the surface would hurt him, but not that bad and that early. With a weak team, he has no shot of getting back in.

Bernal is in top shape. Super strong. I hope it doesn't bite him back in tha hellish third week to attack this strong and this early.
Evenpoel completely empty today. |

Buchmann looks on point to tackle the 3rd week. Top-5 or podium are possible if this was not a one off. |

If today was indeed a sign of things to come, I think it's a fight with Carthy and Yates for 3rd place. Vlasov looks strong, possibly out of reach already. I don't trust Caruso to keep this up, nor Ciccone or Foss to regain significant time. Not sure what to think of Evenepoel, but hard to see him sustaining a decent form over three weeks at the moment.

Dont sleep on Caruso he's the Italian Zubeldia. But yeah, he'll probably slip outside the Top 5.

If Vlasov would only ride a little bit more intelligently. He sadly seems to not have that instinct yet of when to attack and when not to. I think he would've been able to come close to Bernal without that attack on the flatter Strade-part after which he suffered quite a bit.
Also what an awesome stage it was, and a huge surprise winner. |

Bernal must be huge favorite now! Simply the best of those there is a level below Pogacar and Roglic |

I wouldn't put Bernal lower than them, he just had a bad Tour last year. This is proof he can race on their level.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Have you seen Bernal on a time trial ? He will lose to Pogacar and Roglic. |

They're definitely better, but he's no Bardet either. But in climbs, I think the best Barnal could be on par with the Slovenians.

Wow, already the second Swiss stage win this year Great to see our talents step up; Dillier in the 2017 Giro was the last GT stage winner before Hirschi's TdF stage win last year, and now there are already two of them in this Giro. Of course, it's breakaway wins for now, but you still need some strong legs and race intelligence to get those wins - well done!

Tuscany is the greatest place to race bikes! Also, Bernal keeps putting time into his rivals, but let's see if he pulls a Yates. Nothing is decided yet. Every year people prematurely call the winner of the Giro and every year they are wrong lol

Remco will easily win this. Will take a truly heroic effort for anyone to beat him
