Woods looks very confident, no clue what his plan is.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Gaudu P3!!!

The chosen one.

Valverde's been racing how long? And he still manages to end up leading out the sprint from a 5 man group and then goes too early.

So, the two best GT riders are also the best sprinters in Liege in the past two years, ooookay. LOL

Good racing, loved seeing Woods so active. Gaudu with the oddest move ahead of the finale.

Give him time, he needs a bit more racing experience and then he can ace just situations too lol

I’ve a feeling if they let Roglic and Pogacar race De Ronde or Paris-Roubaix they would find a way to win both races somehow.

Seriously though, I feel sometimes like I'm the only one who just hates this new age of all-arounders. It's cool to have a few guys that can compete everywhere, but you end up with the same names all the time and no major differences between disciplines. Combine it with the top guys' tendency to always be on form now, and it's just a bit more boring to me.

You're definitely not, and thoroughly disliking some of them doesn't make it any easier. Pfft

Some questionable descending there, wonder if they have the balls to take him out of the race now.

Carapaz was indeed disqualified but unsure if after crossing the line.

yeah, despite I also would prefer to see some races contested by more specialists, I have to say that in the past it was even worse, with GT winners claiming also Paris-Roubaix in many epochs starting from Coppi to Merckx, Gimondi, Moser, Hinault, Kelly...and most of them won several monuments on different terrains..

Yeah, I guess it's just weird for me cause I got into cycling ~2010 when specialization was probably at its peak.

that's true. in froome/Contador and Boonen/Cancellara era it was quite hard to beat those specialists

I actually like the top stage racers returning to the classics. I think it was just Nibali before, but now everyone was here. I really prefer them riding Ardennes over some lame Romandie+Dauphiné TDF preparation.

Some more random thoughts:
- Carapaz got his DSQ, but like Moscon at the WC it was way too late. Luckily he was caught quickly.
- Still no idea how Woods was trying to win
- Gaudu's attack looked weird, but I think he just mistimed it right before a turn
- Valverde made some rookie mistakes there, he needs a few more years to mature.
- Alaphilippe losing this race again. It's like Sagan in San Remo, it should be the perfect race to win for him but he always messes up something.
- This was Roglic's last race day before TDF, not sure how this disaster will have a mental impact.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

One of the reasons why Nick Nuyens's Vlaanderen win will always be one of those races where I can exactly remember where I was when I watched it.
