I'm with stupid 2021.3: Round 1
Space
We have sixteen participants for this first round. Three questions had an answer which brought more than ten points. I expected one or two of them to be this but in general you were quite unimaginative this round. Not that that is a bad thing pointwise.
Our very own planet Earth was mentioned most, twelve times in total. Moving into the galaxy, Mars received two mentions and Neptune one. kandesbunzler26 took no risk and mentioned Gliese 486b, a planet discovered so recently it doesn't even have a Wikipedia article yet.
Spoiler Earth | 12 | Mars | 2 | Gliese 486b | 1 | Neptune | 1 |
2. Name a human who has been to space.
The first man on the moon takes the crown with eleven mentions: Lance Armstrong. Too many of you made that joke in your answers, it's Neil Armstrong of course. The first human in space, Yuri Gagarin, takes three mentions, with the other mentions being Sergei Krikalev (last Soviet/first Russian in space) and Felix Baumgartner (highest skydive).
Spoiler Neil Armstrong | 11 | Yuri Gagarin | 3 | Felix Baumgartner | 1 | Sergei Krikalev | 1 |
3. Name a movie which takes place in space.
I expected a battle between Star Trek and Star Wars, with the latter being victorious. All six who mentioned Star Wars picked Star Wars (retroactively titled Episode IV), while the two Trekkies split between Wrath of Khan and the 2009 reboot, thus taking one point each. 2001: A Space Odyssey, Apollo 13 and Interstellar were also mentioned twice.
Spoiler Star Wars | 6 | 2001: A Space Odyssey | 2 | Apollo 13 | 2 | Interstellar | 2 | Gravity | 1 | Iron Sky | 1 | Star Trek | 1 | Star Trek: Wrath of Khan | 1 |
4. Name something which orbits Earth.
Even though knockout praised this question for its possible diversity, eleven people went for the Moon. The International Space Station is the only other multi-answer with three points, while the Olympic Torch and Vanguard 1 are the other object having orbited our little globe.
Spoiler Moon | 11 | ISS | 3 | Olympic Torch | 1 | Vanguard 1 | 1 |
The moon landing, Apollo 11, takes the win with seven mentions, ahead of the failed Apollo 13 with three. jseadog1 mentioned Apollo in general which is a space program instead of a mission. cunego59, FreitasPCM and Croatia14 gives us a chain of Perseverance, the rover part of the Mars: 2020 mission part of the Mars Exploration Program, unfortunately one point for all. NASA called me to hide jandal7's answer because the truth can't get out.
Spoiler Apollo 11 | 7 | Apollo 13 | 3 | Apollo | 1 | Mars 2020 | 1 | Mars Exploration Program | 1 | Perseverance | 1 | SpaceX Crew-2 | 1 | Trying to convince us the earth is round | 1 |
Points and classification
The first answer chronologically set the bar for all the others, TheManxMissile with a perfect round awarding 47 points! baseballlover312 and Ollfardh lost four points on one question (movies for the former, missions for the latter) and tie for second at 43. FreitasPCM and jseadog1 tie for fourth at 41 points, both bottling it on the final question. With three one-sided questions, the scores are quite high. Down at the bottom, jandal7 and kandesbunzler26 succeed in their five-pointer.

Don't have to be specific about Star Wars but do about the Apollo. Ugh I clearly meant the one that got 11. Losing on a technicality stinks
Nearly a perfect round here.

The funny thing is: I had Star Wars in my original answer and then sent another PM to change it to 2001 because Star Wars takes place on planets for the most part and not in actual space, but I guess that was a wrong call.
Bit of a shame with the Perseverance/not really a mission thing, but fair enough I guess. Oh well, not my best round. 3/5 at least. On to the next ...

But Star Wars was the actual title of what is now known as A New Hope.
Was hoping the movie would give Apollo 13 the edge over 11, but apparently not. Still a good round for me.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I'm with stupid 2021.3: Round 2
Football
Satisfying both the fans of Worldwide football and American handegg, two questions for each sport as well as a question to name a related sport. The answers were much more diverse than last round, resulting in lower scores, also due to less participants.
The most recent Super Bowl winner, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, takes the crown with five answers. The record winner, New England Patriots, received three mentions, with all other answers being unique. The only former NFL team to be mentioned is Tonawanda Kardex Lumbermen, only playing one game.
Spoiler Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 5 | New England Patriots | 3 | Dallas Cowboys | 1 | Green Bay Packers | 1 | New York Jets | 1 | Pittsburg Steelers | 1 | Seattle Seahawks | 1 | Tonawanda Kardex Lumbermen | 1 |
2. Name an association football stadium.
Wembley Stadium was mentioned seven times, solidifying its status as iconic stadium. The home of the reds from Liverpool, Anfield, received two mentions, with the homes of the reds from Manchester and FC Barcelona, Old Trafford and Camp Nou, amongst those mentioned once. Even a stadium in the USA was mentioned for this question, Yankee Stadium hosting New York City FC as well as the baseball team.
Spoiler Wembley Stadium | 7 | Anfield | 2 | Camp Nou | 1 | DW Stadium | 1 | Old Trafford | 1 | The Innocent New Lawn | 1 | Yankee Stadium | 1 |
3. Name a Super Bowl winning quaterback [sic].
Tom Brady (yes, he is a quarterback Ollfardh) goes to double digits, with ten people mentioning the arguably greatest quarterback of recent times. Trent Dilfer, the Manning brothers (Eli and Peyton) and Russel Wilson were the other answers.
Spoiler Tom Brady | 10 | Trent Dilfer | 1 | Eli Manning | 1 | Peyton Manning | 1 | Russel Wilson | 1 |
4. Name a FIFA member association which has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup.
European micronations were the most valuable answers here. Luxembourg and San Marino were mentioned three times, as well as Finland who has qualified for an Euro but not the World Cup yet. Non-UEFA answers include American Samoa, Barbados and India.
Spoiler Finland | 3 | Luxembourg | 3 | San Marino | 3 | American Samoa | 1 | Barbados | 1 | Gibraltar | 1 | India | 1 | Kosovo | 1 |
5. Name a football code other than American and association.
Two people misinterpreted the question (UEFA is a confederation and "I don't understand the question" is not a code last I checked). Picking Australian football aka Aussie Rules brings four points, with Gaelic football and rugby good for two points. jandal7 probably doesn't want to be awarded three points for naming International rules, the combination of Australian and Gaelic football.
Spoiler Aussie Rules | 4 | Gaelic | 2 | Futsal | 1 | Gridiron | 1 | International Rules | 1 | Samoa Rules | 1 | UEFA | 1 | I don't understand the question? | 1 |
The winning points total of this round equals that of the lowest non-fivepointer of last round. baseballlover312 scores 27 points, close to the maximum score for this round. He beats df_trek by one point despite the latter not giving a correct answer for Q5. jseadog1 and Shonak score 25 points but were split between Finland and Luxembourg for Q4. Nemolito and Ollfardh also score more than 20 points (24 and 23). jandal7 and kandesbunzler26 accomplish another perfect five-pointer.
TheManxMissile's insistence on naming Seattle Seahawks-related answers cost him a few points, which he even admitted to himself. The new leader with 70 points is the winner of this round: baseballlover312. He has a lead of four points over jseadog1 and Ollfardh, and six over Shonak. The former leader drops back to tied fifth with Nemolito at seven points. At the bottom, cunego59 and knockout score zero points for not participating this round, but are still ahead of jandal7 and kandesbunzler26 for obvious reasons.
I'm with stupid 2021.3: Round 3
Oceania
1. Name an Australian cyclist.
2. Name a city in New Zealand.
3. Name an animal indigenous to Australia.
4. Name something typically New Zealand.
5. Name a country or dependency in Oceania other than Australia and New Zealand.
Deadline: Tuesday the 16th of March, Noon Daily Time

Thanks, good round overall. let's see how he J7 keeps his streak low or if national pride takes over to win this round.

Buccs and Brady were very obvious, and if not for the fact i own a replica 2013 Seahwaks Jersey with Wilson's name on it (and another Platiunum Edition Wilson Jersey (and a Kam Chancellor one too)) i would have two perfect rounds.
Very much enjoying the questions so far!

Very much considering going for it, except for question 4, as I might be the worst person to answer it in the game given I'd be looking at it from an insider's point of view on "typically NZ" rather than an outsider's like everyone else
Also, unless kandesbunzler has some insane sporting trivia knowledge, I'm proud to be the google-less member of our little 5er race
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

funny thing, I was also answering with "I don't understand the question" (in fact I missed the meaning of that question) and I would have scored more points splitting first place
