I sent the race planning to Croatia14 today. So I don't need to do anything for now?

Thanks. No, I won't make any changes, I'm happy I got all the races I applied for, including WT ones Smile Can't wait to get the season started Grin

Me: spends an entire afternoon planning most of the season with pen&paper.

Also me: only now realizes a full lineup is 7 riders per race in ICL and not 8.

That'll take a while to fix. Frown
At least it means we won't have to send smaller teams to a quarter of our races...

OZrocker
Actually, full teams for some races are different amounts. GTs are 8 riders, while some of the TT events are a maximum of 3. Definitely worth checking before you confirm your planning.

Thank you, but we're not participating in any special events. Smile (yet...)

I promised my nephew to do at least some of race selection and planning together, and we can finally get around to it tomorrow, so both tasks should come in soon after.

Good to see that you are doing your part in training future managing talents Grin

He's 12 and has never heard of Armstrong or Ullrich, but he can tell you every single Bewley stat in the MG DB or where Festina finished in 2015, and he demanded daily updates on both the MG and ICL transfer seasons after having been involved in planning the strategies. Pfft

Honestly if he's that into it, he should make an account and jump in next time!

Been there - I had a panicked PM to Bikex because there is WT triple conflict and that meant I needed 24 riders, and I can't send reduce squads to WT races and I only have 25 riders and didn't want my leaders to have to to race in any of the triple conflicts. And then I felt stupid when he pointed out I only needed 21.

He would definitely be a great addition if he's that into it indeed Grin If he doesn't know English, this will be the perfect school for him (just as runescape was for me +- 14 years ago Pfft)

Is there a development incentive to using up all your prospects race days?

Will send main team planning this weekend. Might need some more time for U23.

Ripley
@bbl: I think there is. Though I recently asked Bikex about it for my youngest U23 riders and he couldn't remember. Smile

@Abhi: U23 planning takes about 10 minutes. Maybe 20 if you're being thorough. Smile I already handed that in, I have to go through my main team once more, should get it done tomorrow.

Concerning U23: How much of a "penalty" is there actually if you let a >71 AVG or 23 y.o. ride for the junior team? As far as I understand, development in the main squad depends quite a lot on results, which those are unlikely to get, so can they actually benefit more from staying in the U23 team? (I know this selection is already done, but just asking for next year...)

Race days used up have a small influence on development but there it is only looked at the number of used up race days, not whether all are used up. So the difference between a few days more or less is neglectible.

There's actually not really a penalty (anymore). You are right that good U23 team riders can actually benefit quite a lot from riding in the dev team.

I updated the race planner with all team selections we've received already: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread...st_1382823

Until the season starts we still need that from you + selection of focus races (in same post) Smile

Mine took much longer than that, but there's two reasons for that.
1. Because I'm a perfectionist who likes sending full teams to each race, and
2. I signed up for the maximum (+5) amount of races, leaving exactly one day's worth of racing left over, as you can see here

Probably not the best idea, but I made it work Pfft

Fair enough, OZ, I have far more RD left over! But still, no overlaps to worry about, only having to leave out one rider per race... it's a lot simpler than planning the main team and I don't see it needing days to complete.

Anyway, I handed everything in yesterday.

We'll do the equipment selection again this season (we didn't do it last season), there'll be a post about that coming soon.

It probably doesn't matter, to be honest. The more race days you have to fit in, the more compromised your calendar can become. My WT planning I signed up for (+0) and only had about 5 riders with days to spare. Even then, my weakest riders (Epalanga and Hope) both had about 50% of their possible race days filled.

For the U23s I don't care as much for the results and just want to get in as many race days for the young guys as possible. I think everyone has their own way of doing things and it's more a personal preference. Smile

Ripley
The sponsor demands more race days for Epalanga! Smile
