Aru's been underwhelming for so many years now that I think he has slipped out of everyone's minds now. Even I had to check where he was racing this year.

Huh well maybe I will go for 5s now
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Oof, did not expect Sunweb to have such an easy win there. That really did me in. Did I miss something that made their name change more notable?

probably the fact that all other teams maintained a part of the old name or turned using a name already used in the past...this was the only one totally new.

Also the most popular answer on the previous question being Hirschi I think, switching from Sunweb to UAE

Of course, my actual answer was "whatever Sunweb is called now".
Oh boy, the new questions are much tougher...
I figured I would give you that one Also, so far I'm pretty happy with how the answers turn out. No Hirschi/DSM type of answer so far, although still in the cards with a quite a few PMs left, but a decent amount of points available.

Like Nemolito said, I think Hirschi had something to do with that. 75% of those who had Hirschi also took DSM (9 of 12), while less than half of those without Hirschi took DSM (3 of 7). I expected at least BikeExchange to be closer, but I think the big discussion about why DSM can't keep their top stars in the wake of the Hirschi transfer had them fresh on many people's mind.

I'm with stupid 2021 - Game 1, Round 2
The results echo the sentiments that the questions were difficult and tough to predict - which I'm happy with, of course. Only one answer gave as many points as Hirschi and DSM last round and no one scored a perfect round. In fact, no one got the best answer on more than three questions. And the round rankings reflect how close everything was, as we will see.
1. Name a genre of music.
I feared that Pop would run away with this, but instead the landslide winner was Rock. With 12 points, this was the most points available in this round by a decent margin. Pop got you 4, Hip Hop to my surprise only 3, since it has been dominating the charts for a while now. No other answer got more than one, but I would be remissed to not relay TheManxMissile's encouragement that everyone should listen to more Jazz.
Spoiler Rock | 12 | Pop | 4 | Hip Hop | 3 | Classical | 1 | Bluegrass | 1 | Jazz | 1 |
2. Name an artist that is popular right now.
Two women top this category: 5 time Grammy winner Billie Eilish takes the crown with 8 mentions, followed by Dua Lipa with 4. Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd gave 2 points.
Spoiler Billie Eilish | 8 | Dua Lipa | 4 | Ed Sheeran | 2 | The Weeknd | 2 | Drake | 1 | Greta Van Fleet | 1 | Pitbull | 1 | Rita Ora | 1 | Taylor Swift | 1 | Don't know | 1 |
3. Name an artist that has been popular for at least the last 10 years.
While Taylor Swift got only 1 mention in the previous question, she reigns supreme in this category. It's the most diverse of the round though, so reigning supreme means 5 points. Lady Gaga follows with 3, then 2 for Beyoncé and Drake. I would have expected the latter to be much higher here. A lot of 1 pointers, from Justin Bieber over Eminem and Phil Collins to Heavy Metal representatives Sabaton.
Spoiler Taylor Swift | 5 | Lady Gaga | 3 | Beyoncé | 2 | Drake | 2 | Arctic Monkeys | 1 | Dave Grohl | 1 | Eminem | 1 | Green Day | 1 | Justin Bieber | 1 | Linkin Park | 1 | Pogo | 1 | Rihanna | 1 | Sabaton | 1 |
4. Name a band that is considered an all time great that is not The Beatles or The Rolling Stones.
This brought us the third most chosen answer. 7 points for everyone who had Queen! A very varied list behind them, with U2 and Led Zeppelin mentioned by 3 and Linkin Park by 2 - a very passionate 2 I should add, with knockout effectively giving up 6 points by choosing them to make a statement, eventhough he acknowledged Queen would likely give more points, and Croatia14 opting for ALL CAPS to underscore the answer (like he did when he picked them for Q2).
Spoiler Queen | 7 | Led Zeppelin | 3 | U2 | 3 | Linking Park | 2 | AC/DC | 1 | Earth, Wind & Fire | 1 | Genesis | 1 | Metallica | 1 | Pink Floyd | 1 | Talking Heads | 1 | Tenacious D | 1 |
5. Name a classical composer that is not Mozart, Beethoven or Bach.
Another question where quite a few answers awarded multiple points, but one stood out: Frédéric Chopin was the answer for 6 of you, followed by Antonio Vivaldi (4) and Joseph Haydn (3). Two Richards, Wagner and Strauss, were mentioned twice. Maybe the most exotic answer was Johann Pachelbel by jandal7 (who may have tried to join the 5 points club but was foiled by Dua Lipa), while TMM was possibly the only one to view "classical" more as a genre than a time period and opted for legendary film composer John Williams.
Spoiler Frédéric Chopin | 6 | Antonio Vivaldi | 4 | Joseph Haydn | 3 | Richard Strauss | 2 | Richard Wagner | 2 | Claude Debussy | 1 | Georg Händel | 1 | Johann Pachelbel | 1 | Pyort Tchaikovsky | 1 | John Williams | 1 |
Standings
First of all, I'm happy to see the field expanding, as Shonak, Scatmaster111 and quadsas all joined this round and everyone from round 1 got their answers in as well.
As I've mentioned, no one got more than three questions exactly right. The theoretical maximum was 38, the round winners got 29 each. Yes, winners: Four (!) people got to 29, notably all on different paths, though unified by Rock and Billie Eilish.
Marcocdw, knockout, Croatia14 and baseballlover312 take the joint crown for this round, a continuation of excellence by the former two, a bounce back from a suboptimal round 1 for the latter two. Bikex and kandesbunzler miss out by one and two points, respectively, for lack of Billie Eilish, while Vali is the best of those who didn't choose Rock, another point behind.
TheManxMissile and jandal7 are at the lower end of the spectrum, though they may not be surprised. Right above them are newcomers Scatmaster111 and quadsas. Shonak fares a bit better, but all three of them have some ways to go in the overall standings.
Speaking of: knockout takes the lead a single point ahead of fellow round winner Marcovdw. The two have a little bit of seperation to the rest of the pack, led by round 1 winner Nemolito, FreitasPCM and kandesbunzler. The race is still very close though, and many of the people currently in midfield are only one good round away from attacking the top spots.
I'm with stupid 2021: cunego59's Round 3
History
1. Name an invention that changed the world.
2. Name an event that changed the world.
3. Name a war other than World War I and II.
4. Name a woman that is considered to be of historic importance.
5. Name a man that is considered to be of historic importance.
PM me your answers until 12 PM daily time on Thursday, February 4th. Two and a half days seems to be a good time frame, but I'm open to other suggestions.
Very unsure about these questions tbh, could be too one-sided or way too varied, but I'm mostly just curious Let's see how it goes.

This round was tough lol. I knew Queen would get more but I just couldn't for the life of me remember what they were called, so I just went with Earth, Wind & Fire because I was listening to September lol. I didn't expect so many people to pick Chopin on the last one, I expected a lot more votes for Tchaikovsky and Handel.
PM sent, I'm much more confident about this round

No love for Tchaikovsky. I played 1812 overture in high school band, and I will never forget that man.
Somehow Queen slipped my mind too, but that one's obviously on me. The good news is I at least didn't go with The Who, which was my initial thought.
Edit: Next round will be very tough. I'm a history majors and it will be very difficult to remember which stuff non-history nerds know, let alone mostly Europeans.
