Feels like a repetition of stage 1. Terrific job by the team, and we have the strongest lead-out, but then Guarnieri leaves a gap to Perera that he has to close. That probably ruins his chances in the end. Frustrating, and I don't really get why it happens - Guarnieri's acceleration is equal to that of Perera and it wasn't a problem last year when Selig was doing the lead-out's (who also had equal acc to Guarneri). After the terrible 2nd stage, we're really in need of a stage win tomorrow to be even remotely content with our achievements in this race.

Cav just made the split and managed a top 10 to continue his consistent finishing. He doesn’t seem to have any support from his team in the final kilometres which is worrying.

without looking at the stats maybe the problem is the FLAT and not AC

If Avelino had slightly better ACC, he’d be flying!
I’m enjoying the consistency from him so far and hopefully he can take a Top 5 GC.

And now Bernas turn to get bonus seconds. These flat beasts won't have a lot of chances to shine during the season, but they are proving their worth only in this race

Guarnieri has +4 in flat, so that shouldn't be the issue. Guarnieri is better in every stat that matters except acc, where they're equal. It's only happened two times so far though, so it isn't necessarily a pattern, but don't like to see it two times in three stages Could be related to daily form also, I guess.

Perhaps a bad day from Boeckmans, but also as I predicted we didn't handle the leaders jersey well. Shame Kris couldn't get at least some minor seconds. We need a decent result in the last stage to keep a good GC placing.

owie yowie, bonus second but a 2 place drop. Not that discouraging, first couple stages I'll chalk em up to bad luck. Let's see how Juarez goes

Not bad in the end but not stunning either, probably about par for Rowe here. Wish we had gone for breakaways though. Thanks for the reports SN and congrats Marco, brilliant result for Vesely!

VESELY YES!
Given the field and previous results I would've taken a top ten here. Even heading into the last stage that was pretty much the goal, winning the race overall was nearon impossible and the field was close. But then Vesely gained and gained and somehow won everything! I hope Claeys regrets his decision of having Vesely work for him in TDU and Southland.
Thanks for the reports SN!

Reinhardt confirms once more than he loves HC racing - it's an open question why he didn't when riding for UBS, though...
Of course, taking a podium on the final stage would have been superb, as he'd have been even three spots higher in the GC. But I'm definitely happy about taking 10th place in a race that could easily have been a zero-pointer - now we get once more over 10 PpRD, which I consider to be a good result
Now on to Mexico, where he'll hopefully confirm his good form!
Congrats to Marco, must be a huge relief to see Vesely deliver here! And commiserations to the home team, really a shame to see Ewan underperform almost day after day!
Thanks for the reports, SN, great coverage once again!

(i'll be honest, i just really wanted to use this gif even though it makes no sense here)
I can safely say you're all going to be seeing this gif a lot as it's nice and comforting as we spiral inevitably into the CT.
Dekker was decent though, although worth virtually no points.
Somehow we are riding worse than we did in the PT. Can challenge for the Podium in MSR, can barely get Top10 here. I didn't think we'd relegate this fast, but luckily we have cats and gifs to distract.

Obviously a disappointing final stage from Avelino but I suppose we’ll take 8th in the GC in the lottery.

That's 2 decent stages and 2 bad ones. The only good thing about this race is Vesely finaly showing up for the Minions. Thanks for the reports!

14th + 19th GC, KoM win. Unbelievable race for the team given the best sprinter of the team has 73 spr and is loaned out
Very valuable 80 points that we get from this race.

I have absolutely nothing to complain about this race
Sure Boeckmans was in a fantastic position and with just one or two better placings in the last 2 stages, could've won the whole thing. But he already exceeded my expectations here. 3rd on GC, 3rd on points, stage win and spendng the entire race in the top 3 added some scoring also
Congrats to Minions and thank you SN for all the detailed reports
