Interesting dynamic to see the group with almost only leaders form at one point.
Turgis a bit of a surprise victory. And with my vested interest in Hill stat riders, its nice to see Di Maggio doing alright.
Thanks for the report Ulrich. January is swiftly at an end!

Interesting race - i reckon many managers wont like the inactivity in the peloton and the lack of pacing but it felt like it made a lot of sense for the AI to act like that when many top favourites like Buchmann or Beltran did not have any domestiques around in the final and others like Di Maggio or Schreurs clearly benefitting from a slower pace until the final and they clearly got a strong result out of this.
Eiking is the real shocker imo finishing top 5 - another huge result for his team today! Centrovalli also with an impressive team result with two guys in the top 11 and Lienhard adding to the team result.
Congrats to Farfetch for the victory and another very high finisher in Yates!
Buchmann probably the biggest disappointment here but he will have lots of races that suit him better.
Thanks for covering the Tour du Maroc!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Would have loved to see a better result by Emu, but in a tough field like this, one moment of bad positioning can cost you the race. Had hopes for a superb Areruya result at one point, but 16th is decent, I suppose. As you said in the report, mixed feelings for Centovalli I would think. Could have expected more from Moscon, but Pernsteiner maybe makes up for that.
Interesting race for sure, and great report

Tough luck for Buchmann here. Fun race overall though as far as puncheur races have gone so far. Nice report.

Such a shame Borges decided to open up hostilities. He looked really good for a top result, but it seems his early aggression cost him a top 5. Still a good result behind such competition.
Farfetch wins again after TDU. 2020 couldn't have started better for them, congrats jph!

11th, 18th and 19th is the kind of stuff I like to see, with our focus going towards secondary riders scoring the small points. Benoot a bit concerning, but he made it back. Wonder what wouldve happened if he didnt waste so much energy in the 2nd group.

This is a really bad start of the season for Beltran
Congrats jph, you look like a sure thing to promote back to PT
Thanks for the report

Thanks for the report, too bad that Roux and Felline lost contact before the finale..This seems to be a recurring theme and doesnt bode well for the season. Oh well. Gratz to the winner.

Well, I guess we can't complain about having three in the Top 20 and being the best CT team (despite not having the highest CT finisher). Mäder did a great job in the breakaway, even though the hill stat held him back in the end.
I would indeed have expected a little more from Moscon, but maybe he didn't have the best of days, or the race wasn't hard enough and the Spr/Acc finally kicked in. Pernsteiner coming back from nowhere then definitely saves the race, and Lienhard in 20th gets his first points for us, too
Thanks for the report, and congrats to Farfetch, who definitely were on fire in January

A Top 6 for Eiking, and he contributed with some late attacks.
We can live with this
Congratz to Farfetch Pro Cycling and thank you for the report aswell

Loved to see Pernsteiner doing very well for his new team. A shame that positioning cost Beltran here.

Any chance I can get Moscon back? I guess it was not an ideal race for De Plus, but he was just always hanging in the back. That concludes a rather bad january for us, not looking forward to the rankings.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

A bit of an up and down race for Areruya, dropped early then attacking a little bit and then missing the front selection in 16th. Not a great result but better than a donut I suppose, I know much more would have been an overperformance but if there were any two races I'd pick for us to overperform role-play wise it would be here and South Africa (the latter we always do though ) so still a little dissapointed. Thanks for the report Ulrich and congrats to jph and Farfetch, feeling quite good about where I predicted them

Thank you for the congratulations everyone!
It's fair to say I didn't see that coming, with a repeat of 2014's 1-7 here. Turgis taking his first pro win in only his second race as a maxed rider is nice, especially on a profile I felt wouldn't suit him, and Yates coming home in 7th shows that my gamble on putting him in hilly races should pay off.
Our depth didn't perform as well as I would have liked, but given the overall result and scoring over 100 points I can't really complain - Bettiol and Guerreiro are needed more for those races when we don't win, and instead can put 4 in the top 20. What a start to the season though, perhaps our best since we won Tachira and Gisborne back in our first promotion season.
Thanks for the report Ulrich, really enjoyable read! |

Maybe in exchange for Gamper and Fedeli? I'm not quite sure yet how to train him, so if you have great ideas and the money needed, he might want to get back to you

Yes Maurice! That is what we are talking about! What could have been if you could have performed on Stage 3 of TDU.
Great podium here, and gives me good hope for other hilly classics this season
