A 6th year in the MG for Team Manager Phil Hoyle, and a 2nd time being in the ProContinental Division for him. We begin our 3rd year under the GCN banner, but this season have a small name change to promote the GCN Racing channel.
Last season, we had the goal of promotion and that was achieved with a great 3rd place in the CT Division. The last time we were in the PCT peleton, we went down without a fight. This season, we have to stay up and for that we need to add to our team, meaning it will be a key transfer season ahead.

The pre-season duties are well underway, with renewals and other admin jobs taking place within the GCN offices.
Part of the pre-season duties is of course the jersey reveal, and with the change to Castelli as our Clothing Supplier, we have a new design and kit for 2020.
Safe to say, it is a beauty, incorporating more red on the jersey than previous seasons. Parent company PlaySports.com replacing the Canyon logos from last year.
An admin error way back when meant that we did not have any participation on the National or World Championship this season, however, our two riders out on loan in 2019 did a fine job to pick up for special jersey for the next 12 months.

We will have to see how transfers go, and whether any further jerseys will be added to the collection.
With the MGUCI giving their confirmation for the MG Teams of 2020 to reveal their retained lists for the new season, the GCN Racing Management Team thought it was only right to follow suit!
As with last season, we see the main core of the team remaining very similar, with plans ahead of transfers to build on their success with some new leaders for the PCT season. Pinot and Mohs were more than happy to renew with the team, both accepting their new wages during Round 1 of negotiations. Only Clenne Morvan Moulingui, returning to after his season in PT, and Geremie Nzeke, signing a full contract after ahis draft pick last season, see increments to their salaries of over 10,000€.
Erik Mohs is the only one with a major reduction in wage, as his old age gives us a great reason to save a lot of cap on the retained list.

Sadly, we do say goodbye to a trio of riders, with Sandor Szalontay, Gracjan Lejman and James Knox all being released to the Free Agency market. Whilst all had valid, minimal wage demands, we did not see them fitting into the team for this PCT season, and we wish them all the best for their future endevours.

A simple key to follow - the more dots against the name, the more available they are when it comes to transfer season.
I didn't expect more than one dot next to Moulingui of course, but there was a small part of me that hoped otherwise I'm still fairly sure we'll have some talks come transfer season. Moulingui is my first maxed rider I have developed on the team, so sadly not planning on having him leave. He has a wonderful NC jersey to wear as well I'm sure we will talk about some others though
Maybe something missed from the 2019 Season Review, but the GCN Racing Management Team thought it was only right to show off our Rider Developments for our two hot prospects in the GCN Racing Team.
After a season in the service of the now World Champion Lukasz Wisniowski, Clenne Morvan spent the 2019 season at Grieg - Maersk in the PT Division. He returns to GCN Racing as our Cobbles Leader, and will be given the opportunities this season to ride for himself for the first time.

Ryan was another rider who spent last season with another team, riding with Philips in the PCT Division. He comes back to the GCN Racing Team a year wiser, and is progressing nicely towards his maxed form as a fine lead-out / secondary sprinter

After joining the team as a Stagiare in 2018, last season Stef's first full season with the team. Pretty much acting as the Team Work Horse all season, he will no doubt start to show his TT strength more this season. Only Lvl 3, we expect him to continue developing into a future great against the clock.
