Richie Porte reminds me a lot of Chris Horner. Both small guys riding out of the saddle pushing those huge gears. Kinda wouldn't mind having him win the Vuelta at 41 years old.

Its a tough sport Croatia, my sympathies. Lets hope Rogliv learns from.this and grows as a rider. Despite JV dominance this race, he himself was very passive most of the time. If he takes the hints, he will become a stronger rider and will win TDF eventually

+1. Also wishing I put more PCM$ on because those odds were amazingly long, easy choice to go for him. Went for 100 but considered more and didn't

Imagine how Roglic felt and how he will feel today. When he will see the joy ride that he thought was going to be his made for somebody else. I wonder how Jumbo's dinner last night was.

Someone can probably tell me, but without bonus seconds and the Col de Loze, did Roglic actually gain any time over Pogacar this Tour? (and without losses in the winds)

In the end, Jumbo team worked pretty well for him; not sure Aru would have been any help. Its refreshing to see a rider win the tour out of his complete own strength, I am not sure who is comparable... maybe Evans?

another fact that made yesterday stage impressive is that Pogacar rode the climb without powermeter and cardio, breaking modern cycling "rules"

That's not really a problem when you have unlimited power.

He would've fried the circuit on the powermeter

stellar camera work cutting to Bennett post-finish instead of watching the yellow jersey finish the race

Think Pogacar and Roglic crossed together, missed a beautiful moment. |

Yeah, Him and Lopez were both great odds, especially Tadej tho, who I thought would be in the Top 5 anyway. I thought he could beat Roglic, Bernal was the only one I was really worried about, but Bernal ended up not being in shape at all. The odds were too good to pass up on really.

Conquering yet another summit, Pogacar earned a projection on the Burj Khalifa tonight.

Some good graphics from Cycling news on the tour. People make fun of Movistar for valuing the team competition but they were the 3rd highest prize money winners mostly for that.
Also liked the GC one where if you do the animation you can see riders fall out of the graphic on the a bad stage.

That was pretty funny Cool graphics indeed. The KoM one illustrates well what I think was bad design for the competition this year. One or two stages (specifically 17 with the HC finish for 40 points, and to a lesser degree 18) and so many points that almost all other stages were meaningless. Sure Pogacar was the most consistent, but seeing Lopez in fourth, ahead of any breakaway rider, with 80% of his points coming from a single climb, is not great imo. Also, pretty wild that WVA had the second-most points from stage finishes without even trying in so many of them. If he actually goes for the points jersey, I'm not sure anyone could stop him.

Agree with you on the KOM, the way in which Cosnefroy managed to hold the lead for so many stages without doing much also speaks to that.
