The Race Profiles forum for the 2020 season is now available. This year, it is ordered by race category. Some very few profiles are still missing. Though those will have the same or very similar profiles to their 2018 version, so you can already get the full picture of the calendar. The information for those races are listed in the thread, sometimes also a TT replacement is explained there. The remaining races will hopefully all be included within the next days.
Thanks a lot to those managers, that worked hard in the background on various stuff. Have to mention Tamijo here in especially as it wouldn`t have been possible to convert lots of races over the past couple months, editing sprinter stages with wideness, working on hill stages etc. Also AbhishekLFC did a fantastic work on calendar planning and shuffling.
But also thanks to all others, who worked on stages or other things such as archives.
The 2020 calendar file (which also has the HC/PTHC bands listed) can be downloaded here: https://pcmdaily....endar.xlsx
A newer edition will be uploaded later with the exact names of the new races. For now it should though help a lot with race clashes, when coming to goals!
Explanation
For those that don`t have PCM18 some hints how to read the symbols.
Flat, Hill, Mountain should be obvious. Reading the profile is important as there is a H/M ratio between 0-1 with 1 meaning 100 % mountain stat and 0 being 100 % hill stat with all values in between being a mix of both.
We worked a lot on this as it`s no longer manually changeable. If the symbol has it as hill, we try to reduce the mountain impact as much as possible. For clear hill races, it`s as close to 0 as possible, while mixed races (e.g. GTs, Tour of Portugal etc. it might be up to ~0.3 as well. Same with mountain stages, where it should be close to 1 and at least over 0.7.
In extreme cases (Hallstatt / Lombardia) it might be a H/M of close to 0.5.
Cobbles no longer are level 5 hardness. It`s now a mix between 1-5 with most having the average difficulty of 3.
And the TT symbol is important. A white clock is an ITT, a dark clock is a TTT.
---
It is also now possible for you to decide on your team goals then.
Team Goals form a vital part of each team's season. In the short term, how hard goals you pick will determine your final budget - but in the longer term, how well you achieve those goals in the season will have a significant effect on your budget for the following season.
Going for harder goals could reward you greatly if you achieve them, but will punish you if you fail them. Easier goals will be less punishing if you dont achieve them, but they are in turn less rewarding aswell.
For new CT teams, it obviously isnt easy to pick goals without knowing what your team will be - so now is the time to decide which races you want to focus on, and you can then target riders in the transfers season appropriately.
Each type of goal has a cost, and every team must select 5 goals. The total goal cost must be between 14 and 23. There are also certain constraints on what type of goal you can select.

No more than 1 Points/KoM Goal
Note for all: The stage wins goals means stage wins. Overall race victories - be it a stage race or one day race - do not count. Stages wins during PT races for PCT teams do not count either.
Race Flexibility
For one of your goals, you can select 2 races (of the same goal cost) rather than 1. For example: "Top 10, Tour de Suisse or Tour of Qatar". At the end of the transfer season, you must then choose which of these two races you want to keep in your goal.
Goal Changes in 2020
The only change in 2020 is the cut of the top15 goal in the CT as with the amount of teams, this was kind of an too easy goal.
Submitting your Goals
To submit your goals, please use the table format as seen in the spoiler and send it via PM s as seen further below.
Spoiler Race A | Win/Top X etc. | Cost | Race B | Win/Top X etc. | Cost | Race C | Win/Top X etc. | Cost | Race D | Win/Top X etc. | Cost | Team Standings | Option | Cost |
PT teams: redordead https://pcmdaily....kup=132083
PCT teams: cunego59 https://pcmdaily....okup=16286
CT teams: kentaurus https://pcmdaily....okup=60090
If you wait for your budget before renewals, please consider them very fast now and then directly send the goals to me and to the collecting manager.

If you're done with renewals, is it okay to wait for the post-renewals DB before selecting goals?
Seems like the link to the calendar doesn't work btw.!

Hi guys! Some questions (sorry if they're explained elsewhere and I've not seen it):
- Is there a limit on the races a team can compete in?
- Is it possible to compete in 2 races at the same time with different squads?
- Is it recommended to foresee time in between races (in regards to letting your racers rest)?
- What's the meaning of the numbers mentioned next to the races?
And again, truly sorry if these are silly questions. Still trying to find my way around the forum

1. Yes - this will be made up of the mandatory HC bands, plus chosen C2 and C1 races for you in CT. Max RDs will come when you choose races
2. You can - races clashes will happen so be prepared when planning
3. Not necessary - the races are ran as individual events, so fatigue and race day fitness is not a factor. No need to build up a rider to a race either. They will perform at top level whether it is their 1st race day or 50th race day of the season
4. That is the race day cost when building your calendar. 1 day races will always have RD cost of 2 by the way

1. Yes. CT limit is 150 race days iirc, whereof 60 are mandatory C2HC races. The rest can be chosen among C2, C1 or - if you are lucky - even HC races. Rider race day limits are fixed per division (CT for you), and they're in the DB and depend on the rider's OVL value.
2. Yes. You could even compete in 3 races, but that's definitely not recommended for CT squads, due to the limited number of riders.
3. No, fitness/regeneration is not part of the game.
4. Number of race days spent. Please note that 1-day-races always take 2 RDs - but only 1 day in the calendar, i.e. if you want to send a rider to two consecutive races, you're allowed to do so.
You're always zabel'd here when trying to be helpful

Thanks, i understand better now!
Am I correct in thinking that up untill now it has still to be decided what the exact max RD will be?

Little disappointed there's not a CT stage race with a true mix of mountains/hills/TT (non mtn).
I also hope some testing has been done with these less difficult cobbles stages. I know all 5 stars was overboard, but but even the toughest classics only being ranked orange now is a bit strange to see.
I will have my goals in today and then I will be ready to start renewals.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Every cob race tested and almost always a top specialist will come out on top, of course the more cob sections the more cobs will override any effect from punch flat or sprint.
RVV and PR red, not so much because they got harder cob but they got so many sectors.

Havent checked if the profile is flat or it is has been "stamped" into the zcts.
Either way it does not matter in PCM2018 only the profile matter.
If it looks like a flat/hilly/mountain stage it will play as that, profile markings, HI/MO ratio and all that have no effect.
My gut feeling is that flat icon indicate that a good sprint can sometimes make a difference, would be more fair to say both a good sprint some flat/punch/mo may help but COB is very clearly the dominant factor in a race with red COB icon.

A quick question before sending my goals...
I usually pick the "or" solution for GT's as it's really difficult knowing where to go to, before getting to plan the entire season when you have just one good GC rider. So I am probably going for that this season too.
But what will then happen if I pick a PTHC goal, and I don't get that band? Can I get to chose from the band I get, or is the goal then lost?

I think the goal is lost. But I'd wait for confirmation from roturn though.
I had a HC goal for the last 3 seasons and always got the needed band from first choice. Has there even been cases where someone didn't get their first band choice in the PT?
