Bennett wins Gran Piemonte, awesome to see him take a quick break from the Jumbo train before Le Tour and find some solo success Holding off some classy riders with a solo move and staying ahead of Ulissi and van der Poel in the final kilometre as they came after him on the uphill
Going to be tough to fight for more solo leadership roles (especially after his shitty GT luck when he did get the chance a couple of years ago) especially now Dumoulin is there and Kuss is coming through, but hopefully if he keeps taking them he can still do it. First one-day race victory will help to show him as a proper racer a bit over just a consistent but not fiery GC guy.

Jonas Hvideberg though it's a real shame that my man Markus Pajur from Estonia won the bunch sprint, what an upset it would've been if Estonia took the European Championships after Ärms second place last year. Awesome generation for my Eestis these days

Can I just point out that at the moment, the Belgian, the Dutch and the German national RR jersey are held by Alpecin cyclocross riders?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Women European championship was really a good race to follow, Longo Borghini was a beast, not enough anyway...

Anyone see that crazy sprint by Ackermann in Tirreno? |

Yes but I'd say it was more scary than great (even though it was) it was almost like Jakobsen again coming in on the inside and he almost got bumped out by Gaviria. Overall an exciting but very risky sprint by Ackermann but clearly with nerves of steel here but really Gaviria shouldn't have lost this sprint..

Rusty Woods is back in business! Expected more from the Astana-duo today, let’s see. Standing as it is, Thomas looks decent, not perfect, but way much better than a month ago. |

The only race in there world where Pogacar and Roglic would be dropped on the first mountain finish has arrived in a “special” edition (Podium, the main promoter of Volta a Portugal is not organizing this year’s event), with less two stages than usual.
Surprise surprise, W52 dominated the prologue with Veloso wearing the first jersey. Expect a close battle between João Rodrigues and Joni Brandao, who will be supported by Antonio Carvalho this year (ex-W52). Also in contention should be Vicente Garcia de Mateos and Frederico Figueiredo (both unlucky last year). Amaro Antunes is W52’s big name to support Rodrigues but he crashed last week (so dis Rodrigues but he seemed less harmed) so he might not be at his best level. Could be problematic given three summit finishes in the opening five days. Also look out for outsiders Luis Gomes and João Benta (as usual). In fact, Boavista’s squad is strong enough to bring chaos to W52’s pace, they got Daniel Silva, David Rodrigues and Alberto Gallego to impose anarchy (and perhaps do no harm whatsoever).
Dan McClay is the biggest name for the sprints here, could easily grab a win if the flat stages are calm enough and well controlled. Still, should have the opposition from Riccardo Minali, Daniel Mestre and Luis Mendonça. Rally Cycling coming with Gavin Mannion and Keegan Swirbull also acting as outsiders, hope they can do something as well (Mannion top-10!!). Delio Fernandez also another one to keep an eue out (far from his W52 days, but can easily achieve a top-15).
And that’s it! Plus, no Alarcon again as I think he has really been suspended for the reasons you are thinking. |

Bink Bank Tour stages through Netherlands canceled due to Covid restrictions, I didn't understand if they are racing only stage 5 or if there will be some modifications in other stages.

Cosnefroy huge surprise in 2nd. Woods 3rd with a gutsy attack, but fell short 150m.
Pogacar was never in contention in the last 300-500m surprisingly too
