Was very nervous when a large group including "teen" GC contenders got in the break. Expected my two "teens" would loose big time but fortunately only Dall'Oste (congrats Ollfardh) and Bustamente gained some time on them.
Nerz up to 5th at the expense of Reis, not really how you want to make progress, I hope Reis has some good days to make up for these bad days.
Teklehaimanot and Ablenado maintain their top 20 placing and Kraftwerk extended our Team lead by a small margin.

A bit of an anticlimactic queen stage there. More like another medium breakaway stage despite the parcours. However, that's probably exactly what Warbasse wants right now to solidify his placing, so it's not necessarily a bad thing.

Not the way we'd want to gain a position in the GC, so bad luck to Reis and Gustav there. Not much for us on stage again.

Brilliant stuff by Parra Bustamente to go in the break yet again, climbing up to 12th GC and even snatch the KOM-jersey in the prosess.
We've definately gained more points than I expected, so (almost) happy with any outcome the next stages |

Gutted Ablenado lost 15 mins in the last 20km after being in the break which lost us the Team award.
Pleased to see Teklehaimanot being aggressive at the end of the stage.

Non-stage for us here, which is acceptable of course. Breakaway and KoM for Dall'Oste or top 10 for Senni would be nice to finish.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Seems the breakaways are getting too powerful and kind of ruining the rest of the race. No action at all on two of the toughest stages of the race. It's a bit disappointing as a viewer. Once again though, this only helps Warbasse consolidate his GC spot.

Seeing all 4 of Ranaweera's support riders in the break at the same time was worrying but luckily nothing happened in the peloton and they all gained time, I think that's 5 in the top 25 GC now which should generate some nice extra depth points for us.

Another non-event for us. Marquez keeps his GC spot, which is good.

Wow, De La Cruz once again climbing in the standings and we now have 7th and 12th GC, and still the KOM-jersey! It's like a dream coming true |

Larry with another podium, and it also moves us back into points contention, which is pretty cool. He still looks good, and it seems to me he has a good chance of holding on to 2nd place now, as long as he can stay within himself the next few days.
4 straight breakaway wins though. It's a little disappointing as they've all caused the peloton to basically do nothing as well.
Plus, since we have a guy so high up on GC, guys who would be good in breaks - like Garby and Fabbro - aren't trying to go into them and are instead protecting their leader. This in turn is losing them a lot of minor placings on GC because a bunch of breakaway guys are passing them every day. Which means points lost.
That all being said, stage 18 looks like it would normally be a breakaway, so I expect it to be a 5th straight. Maybe we could sneak a guy in it this time?
Edit: I hate to point this out given how amazing the reports have been, but it's a little troubling to me. Vincente Garcia De Mateos of the Control Team came in 32nd and led a group home at 4'06''. I'm a bit worried that if he finished first in his group, he may have influenced the race by pacing. I know this is pretty far back, but there were some minor GC guys in that group, including my own Bjelkmark.
It's not a big deal, but it's probably something to avoid if we can.

Some quiet stages now. I guess I can't complain, and we take the lead from our own rider in the points jersey, so now have two horses to back in that competition. Stage 17 was the other stage I feared for Shikai to lose time, so Im glad he came home in 6th, which even helped him take the points jersey.

We finally got a stage win here after being close numerous times on different terrains.
Also nice to see Scarponi getting really close to the KOM jersey, he is putting up a good fight for it, just hope he continues on and doesn't rest on his laurels now he's got the stage win.

Machado keeping his podium for now a great result but I must say regardless the passive AI in the peloton has been quite boring...

Yeah these last few stages have been quite a drag. Hopefully Itami or Shikai can take back the points jersey, as its not smart to let a dangerous rider like Scarponi get away...
