Congrats BBL great (and surprising) victory! Sprints here are going to be a war of attrition.

"Hey, a Minion in the front group at the front. That must be Vantomme!"
Nope, and not even Claeys, whose hope of a good GC ends even before the TT. All guns on Janse van Rensburg then.
Whoever designed this finale should step on a lego brick......

A stage and teamwork to be proud of, Boeckmans 2nd and Patrick Naud once again shows he is an important addition to the team.
Congratz to Sykkel-Freak
Thanks cunego for another great read.

Predictably we lose the jersey to Zabel on countback. That's not really a concern for me though, since we were always going to lose it tomorrow anyway. Glad we still have the points jersey, though we now need to beat Zabel on stage 4 to keep it, which is very unlikely.
In previous years, I would have been happy to see Steensen up front here and in a decent GC position with some competitors being dropped. but Steensen's mountain makes a good enough result tomorrow impossible in PCM 18. Maybe Kamna will show our hand in the break again and try to snag the KOM jersey.
In any case, I'm really glad we're riding so smart and aggressive so far, even if the successful portion of our race is over.

Love seeing Kuboki lose time. He was our best GC hope. Not sure why he lost time today really, shouldn't have been too hard for him if Itami could make it.

This stage sucked a lot. Losing Koren and Viennet to time losses they cant really afford really isnt good and Enger predictably missing the split means no top stage result despite that 10th place from Durbridge.
The sad thing is I expect Durbo to lose time tomorrow like he did last season so the best shot at a top 10 GC is with Tennant yet again...

Well, one leader less to worry about. Hopefully Cornu can bring his good legs tomorrow to fight for a final GC result.
Weird finish indeed. Guarnieri is a meritable winner though! Congrats Sykkel!

Annoying Houle lost time, seems he's not riding as anything but a domestique here - really don't understand why a 78FL 75HI guy would lose time otherwise. Still frustrating all the same as he should be a pretty good domestique Nice that our next two best GC hopes in Debesay and Bazhkou both stayed safe I guess.
Good choice by the peloton to not let Debesay's breakaway attempt get away I think
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Happy that both Sterobo and Lo Cicero managed to hang on to the peloton, but they're clearly gonna struggle on todays stage |

Great to see Feng in the BotD on the 1st 2 stages (and actually surprised that with his stats that life was not a bit harder for the chasers to peg the break back!). The splits on stage 2 have impacted our GC approach to the race with Sepulveda our intended leader giving up unwanted time here, and only 2 ISA riders making the front group. Sep has been having an amazing season though thus far, so hard to criticise his missing the move here given he has been so on the ball across all his other races.
Stages to come still offer opportunities to fight back up on the GC, and also interested to see how Mraouni deals with the remaining stages given that he may have to take over GC aspirations for ISA now. A big chance for him given his normal role is fully focussed on being an exemplary team-mate; might be asking a bit too much, but give it a shot Salah!
Thanks for the reports, and congrats to the 1st 2 stage winners - storied MG sprinters in this instance doing their thing.

A much needed win after the disappointment on the first stage Good thing Guarnieri learned from his mistakes and got the positioning right this time. We're now back in the race for the points jersey, although chances of winning it are still somewhat slim.
Gallopin losing time is not optimal, but good to see Ignatiev well positioned. Christensen leading the youth classification is also a nice bonus!

Nice to see some of the top tier TT'ers making this selection as it really didn't look all that difficult. Obviously we'll be rooting for Jerome Coppel to win this, but it's really great to also see the likes of Ignatiev and Cornu not dropped at this point which have often been the case this season.

Janse van Rensburg in the front group
And with him, more time trialists. Top ten GC will be a good result for him!

I share SotD's enthusiam for this sweet result! Great to have Cornu in contention for the final and decisive ITT. Another podium place could be in the cards after all.
Congratulations to Valio.

Durbo on pace for another great result. I like it (even though he hardly delivered like that for my team).

That went pretty much like we wanted it to, although quite a few good time trialists also made it in with the first group alongside Ignatiev. A top 5 should be doable, but need Ignatiev to step up from previous TT-performances this season. Good stage by van der Haar too.

I like it as well!
Looks like we are on pace for 2 in the top 10 which is a good result for us I feel. If Durbo can manage a podium in the GC that would be great and Tennant should deliver around 6-7th place as well on top of that which would represent a good return from this race.
Fingers crossed no splits occur in the last flat stage before the TT!
