Surely could had been better e.g. As Ciolek the one day.
But as like 7th to 10th best sprinter only, it was hard for him here.
5 th in the final day already a good result I paper on this field.
But surely he well get his chances as well elsewhere. |

Wow, what a twist! Congrats to Ullrich, huge result for McCormick! Commiserations to Valio and Iberia though
Not a great race for us, Dyrnes I guess overperformed but still pretty bad with Houle only 19th when he could have been much better even without being excellent, just being good. Thanks for the reports roturn!
Oh and love the random good results Schomber had a couple of times here, a top 20 today has got to be his best road stage result ever!

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Congrats to Ulrich for the surprise win and to roturn for the reports.
Sending Cav here was a waste of race days, 7th for Flugel and 2nd in U25 for Denz means this was not a total disaster but not enough to feel safe from a relegation fight.

Congrats to McCormick, what a way to show the established teams how it's done.
Vantomme in a very promising position but once again finishing just tenth. Not getting any points out of this race if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks roturn for the reports!

I’m happy with 6th overall! Edmondson has had a great start to the season! Annoyed about not seeing any other one of my riders in this race but still early days!
Congrats on Holloway for the win and thanks roturn for the reports!

Actually thought you were joking when you said he finished 5th on the last stage I didnt see him in the pictures and assumed he didnt sprint
TBH pretty decent result there I guess

Happy with my call that Holloway is the best CT rider this year now
great result for McCormick, and a race as expected from the outcome - was sure Degenkolb would take it though before the last stage...
decent result for Swisslion, Ciolek with the win did a great job - not sure about Xero though, maybe Dyrnes or Houle should've swapped roles....strange how Houle was sprinting on the last stage for the first time... |

Oh boy, i love this result! Holloway is one of my favourite sprinters in the DB (for reasons that many might be able to guess ) who hasnt done too well in past seasons. Really excited to see him do so well here!
Gautier with a very important result for Valio who start the season the right way.
Delvaux with an excellent race as well - their GC depth is sick!
Not sure about Xero either - pretty anonymous race but solid GC result I'd say eventhough it could have been a lot better too.
Gaviria not doing much is not a great sign for Lierse. Not surprised about Cerny though...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

WOW. GC, Points and two stage wins, can not say I was expecting anything close to that. I am optimistic Holloway can keep it up, wasn't aware how mixed his history was before reading these posts. While I don't think this level of success is sustainable, the results are not totally crazy given his stats. I do think PCM18 values flat.
Also have to say a great team effort with Manamalage with him in the final and the team taking on the race when the PCT teams were absent. I am sure Sweeting was just too tired from all his work to get out of Degenkolb's way in time. I think John has to ask himself what he was doing back there.
Thanks for the congratulations.
Thanks to Roturn for the reports (despite the somewhat negative comments about poor, tired Robert Sweeting).

Decent race for us - not bad, not great. Sending Guarnieri here turned out to be a good decision even though he missed out on a stage win, while Schreurs' race days probably could have been spent better.
Nice to have five riders top 30 in the GC, that's a great bonus. Good race from Hermans in particular, who ended 16th while also being Guarnieri's most important domestique.
Cool to see a CT team win here for the second year in a row. A huge race for McCormick, congrats! And thanks to Roturn, of course, for the reports!

Really disappointed by the lack og GC-ambitions by both Lo Cicero and Modolo in particular, he should have no problem hanging on the sprinters in the decisive stage.
We also had big hopes for a stage win, but we'll take the 2nd and 3rd place and hopefully we'll be projected far away from the relegation battle when the january summary arrives.
Thank you so much roturn for the great reports! |

A bit of mixed feelings about this race. Great seeing Ciolek winning a stage early in the season, but I hope he can be more consistent from stage to stage.
The Willunga stage was weird and it did no favour to Bilbao's GC hopes, was hoping to see how he performs. On the other hand the passive racing meant Ciolek got an unlikely GC positions, so I guess it kind of evens out in the end. Some decent points to start off, but the february races will be much more important.
Another congrats to McCormick and thanks to Roturn for all the reports

Massive win for Halloway and McCormick in the TDU. A good haul of points and Halloway showing that he will be a force to be reckoned with this year.
Great reports throughout roturn and well done McCormick

Congrats McCormick and many thanks roturn for reporting!
I have some mixed feelings from this race.
Positives:
1) 4th place in GC
2) 2 stage wins including very unexpectable one in stage 5
3) white jersey for Brockhoff
Negatives:
1) 4th place in GC when another (and significantly weaker) sprinter took it
2) 3rd place in point competition
To me, sprints looks much more random comparing to PCM15 (bigger influence of daily form?). As my future in PCT depends on Degenkolb mainly, I don´t like it
