General Transfer Discussion (2019)
viking90
Guess I will join the fun here with showing my team for the upcoming season (+ train one stat TT T,Ludvigsson is not in the picture)

Very slow transfer season for us not much happening beside selling Tim Wellens and signing a few FA signings.
Actually dont have a clue what we can expect from this season i PCT, training KHJ instead of Stallaert or Ahlstrand maybe was not cleaver but i´m in this game for the fun and most fun for me is to have the chance to get results in most terrains Cool

Really big contender for promotion I reckon, and I am looking forward to seeing how Summerhill is able to deal with Stallaert Smile

In terms of promotion I do think Haugaard is a good option for training. In terms of getting the best possible rider once in PT it's probably not - but you have to get there first otherwise it's just wasted.

Let's jump on a trend then.

Looking forward to challenge Intxausti in the CT mountains. But I guess that even though we've got some depth (78/78/77), he's still a beast who will remain unbeatable for my guys...
Nicely balanced team, with a strong TT department. CT Champions may not be unrealistic with your squad, indeed.

What's this- a challenger to my Continental TT masters?

I am just hyping my dudes up, we're 'good' in 4 types of races but not the strongest anywhere, it's more likely to be a close fight for promotion rather than automatic

While Intxausti surely would've liked some more support, I indeed think that your squad is looking good to challenge for the top.

However, looking at the age column, you actually kinda have to promote this season as well. You'll require quite some rebuilding next year and beyond, and that's definitely easier with a PCT budget.

Let's play this game too.

Very convinced that promotion should be on the cards for us this season.

Another puncheur squad, why is everyone so obsessed with them? Grin Equinor too just full of them. Gotta rely on Faiers to get you to promotion imo, if he can't deliver it might be tough with all them big boy sprinters coming to CT this year

I really only picked up one rider that could classify as a puncheur this season. I even offloaded 3 different ones in renewals and tried to get rid of Villella during transfers. De Vos is mainly picked up as mountain support.

I agree with the sprinters not being as potent due to Holloway and Mohs but they won't be in all the races, I still very much believe in them to score well.

Faiers should do well regardless even with riders like Inxausti going to CT this year.

Also you forget GVK being a machine on the cobbles even with somewhat lackluster support this year.

Nepo's mission now is to destroy GVK every chance he gets Angry. but he should be a big scorer, I don't really know the situation on the other teams, I saw a couple have a decent cobbler who can sprint, tough to say right now

Well, more than 24 hours have passed by without notice from MGUCI, so I hope it is safe to assume that I have not botched up my submitted transfer sheet in some horrible nightmare inducing manner! Hence fingers crossed now safe to post the post-transfers ISA - Hexacta line-up.

WCC have a new look this season as ISA - Hexacta, but the core of our squad and leadership remain largely unchanged. Our four 'B' terrain leaders Berhane, Betancourt, Boily and Bush retain their positions, but we hope to have strengthened their respective support structures. As should be obvious, we maintain our 'wider' approach to team-bulding than the more 'tall' focus on 2- 3 dominant leaders that has been en vogue in MG for the last few season. In depth discussion of the transfer season from an ISA - Hexacta perspective will eventually appear in our HQ, but for now here is our line-up:

i.postimg.cc/R0fCGNJp/ISA-2019-squad-image.png

Note 1: All our unmaxed development riders (5 in total) spend the season out on loan to ensure they level up.
Note 2: Rider names in red are new signings.
Note 3: Some (very minor) training is not included in this report - that reveal and supporting discussion will be reserved for HQ at the appropriate time!

We hope that these developments will be enough to move us from the 15-20th type level we achieved in our 1st PCT season - where the objective to avoid relegation was imperative, and achieved - towards the less stress inducing 10-15th more stable PCT position that is the over-arching goal for this new season.

Comments welcome.

Technically no response means your file hasn't been checked yet Pfft

Sepulveda adds a nice extra dimension to your team, a classic PCT style all rounder.

Back to incessantly worrying then!

Hopefully so. Similar riders like Bibby and Kangert have good PCT palmares, although Sepulveda falls a little short of their natural ability levels. With Berhane leading us in the mountains, and a Bibby-alike for appropriate races, there is quite a hint of the historic Eritel PCT set-up going on here Pfft.

While you mostly stood pat, I still think your team is ticketed to a higher placement this season overall. Looking at your leaders, pretty much all of them are guys who will benefit from PCM 18 (to my understanding) - Ji and Berhane as lower acceleration climbers, and Boily and Betancourt for their good mtn/hill combos.

I think you'll be fighting for the top ten, although hard to say for sure until the updated DB comes out.

Pretty happy with this squad going into a CT season, hell might be better than my PCT squad last season. Extra couple guys for TT and utility in the draft really helped round it out more.

Definitely stronger than my current side, think you must be favourites for the CT title
