@sgdanny Ponzi as a rider should help a lot. He will score good points, then we just have to see if Wellens and Guardini can score consistently and save you. Also some nice riders for breaks that could give some good extra points.

Started the transfer market with 2.1M in wage caps and no young leaders at all left in the squad. Mohs was sold off to make room for Benoot in the end and Wellens bought in for our budget. The team is probably not gonna stay up in PT, but you can't reallly compare this year with last years promoting teams
seeing Nareklishvili on your squad makes me SICK

Its a deep squad, but you are prolly right and it will be a hard season. But I guess you expected that with all the money tied up in talents

With Dropbox you can use the link you get when clicking on share, then delete the part after jpg or png, and replace www with dl

@Heine,
I built the depth expecting a strong stage racer to come in, when that failed I went full Cio, I expect a tough season but with all the talents coming in I feel the side at least has a clear direction and a plan going forward.

I think you are doing yourself down here Sammy (there are only 26 PCT teams nowadays after all ).
Static transfer window made life very difficult for promoted CT Teams I reckon, so quite a few promoted teams might stuggle. But you appear to have taken a longer-term view and put some good work into longer term planning here I reckon than short 1-season horizons! In that context it looks cool, and the regional focus stays strong. Slagter can bring home some results to help keep the young lads spirits up, and of course Chavanne will do as he does.

Originally planned on training Meintjes and relying on free agent signings... So that went well!
In the end I could only sign Williams from free agency, who should develop into a good climb domestique for Meintjes, and maybe if I'm insane enough to train him, an average leader. Feel like I lucked out in some rider trades which probably made sure we may have improved slightly with Enger.
All in all a decent team but we'll see what we can do

And let me tell you, I very much do love how you executed that fallback plan!
I believe the duo of Hirschi and Mano (quite a Ganna copy one day!) will be worth the sacrifice in the end, and until then Ranaweera can rack up loads of points, especially if you can direct some training funds his way. It might be worth renewing Slagter just for that purpose if you do relegate, despite the likely fee.
Two more years of white jersey eligibility also adds a decent and mostly underestimated chunk of points along the way.
And beyond the obvious, you managed to get good depth talents from your focus regions, which always sounds easier than it is.

He was my Plan B in case Kämna went too high, which he very much did, so consider that a steal at that wage
I had written out an overbid several times, just to never actually hit the post button.
You'll see what I mean in a little while, but basically the only reason I went for Plan C instead is that I got randomly reminded of a rather intricate detail that I overlooked for the longest time.

@Scorchio
Well in that case we are already guaranteed to finish 4 places better than my previous attempt at PCT
I hope some of the youngsters take a chance to attack and make a name for themselves early on.
@Cio
High praise indeed, especially coming from the talent master.
Unfortunately Ranaweera wasn't training eligible this season but you already guessed my plans for until Hirschi is eligible. We'll have to see how much Slagter demands in renewals before we decide if we will release him or go for the training fee, depends how much of a renewals fine he will generate.
My HQ should get updated either tonight or tomorrow showing how I expect them all to max out.

Transfers didn't really went how we planned. Some things worked unexpectedly in our favor, some didn't. From a team that got promoted with all 19 riders scoring points and focusing on having scoring potential in all races, we've now got a top heavy squad relying on 3 riders. We also invested a large chunk of the budget in Tadej Pogacar. This gives us a chance to solidify our regional identity for the next decade.
Hilly and hybrid hill races along with sprinting will be our bread and butter. While the rest will have free reign to express themselves in breakaways.
It's gonna be fun and I hope we have enough to stay up
"I am a cyclist, I may not be the best, but that is what I strive to be. I may never get there, but I will never quit trying." - Tadej Pogačar

So, transfers went ok enough, do people think I'm surviving? I think staying up even though I'll be hanging around the bottom 8-10 all season long is the most realistic expectation tbh.
Managed to adapt decently to missing out on a crucial deal that fell through hours before it was posted, and I couldn't quite get the money I hoped for a few of my riders, but free agency wasn't too harsh on my plan either so overall I'm very satisfied. Looking forward to the season.

Decent wage you got on a 80 COB (with better backup stats then bakari ) guy there matt!
Dont know how PT teams looks this upcoming season but I do think you have a shot at staying up with good scoring ability on mountains and hills with good depth and then Teuns on cobbles! |

That might be because he wasn't an 80 COB guy yet until today
