I'm excited to see how Belgium is gonna handle the WC.
Seems like they have 4 leaders?
Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.

Yes, because multiple leaders always works perfectly in cycling Wink

They need to have a plan sorted before the race otherwise they could end up as the one day version of Movistar, with several big riders making random attacks that seem to hinder the chances of their teammates.

Should be all for GVA and Gilbert, the others are earlier attackers. I would probably have gambled even more with Stuyven and Vanmarcke instead of Lampaert and Declercq. Controlling the race will give it to Mathieu, we have to attack.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I think Stuyven and Vanmarcke would only be two more guys that won't do anything for the others. Declercq for sure (maybe not deep in the finale) and Lampaert are two loyal riders we could use I think.

Depending on how you can handle it, looking at DQS...they're racing with more leaders than domstiques sometimes

Movistar is a good example how multiple leaders can destroy the final target..

But that's the whole point, if we need Declercq to bring back some riders, we're doing everything wrong. We should be the ones to attack Pfft

Kwiatkowski out of the worlds is top reason of why he should leave Skyneos and become an interesting rider again.

One of the best wasted riders of recent history. Unfortunately he is bound with them for 2020 too. At the end of his contract he'll be already 30 Sad

Well he joined Sky/Ineos to become a Grand Tour GC rider. I think Sky/Ineos gave him a fair chance as a GC ride, but he just isn't a good enough all round rider to be a Grand Tour GC rider.

His one day form over the last couple of years has been poor though. Not really sure if that's Sky/Ineos's fault as he has more major one day wins with them than he did before he joined.

I don't remember a GT where he was fairly free for his chances; but about one day wins (talking about major ones) it's quite obvious I'm expecting more wins at Sky/ineos age than before, but:
When you arrive at 25 with already 3 major wins like WC, S.Bianche, AGR and you reach 30 adding "just" MSR, S.Bianche, San Sebastian, E3...there's a kind of descending parabola

2018. He led the race and not sure if he won a stage. Nevertheless, what I meant was that perhaps the luxury domestique role at Ineos might have taken him back from better preparing for some races in which he could have excelled. Sure he’s a rider that easily goes into anonymity, but Kwiato can give more than what he’s doing and it’s like having an Alaphilippe setting pace for some super leader.

df_Trek
that's the point, they can't suppose to let Kwiatkowski lead a GT if his season isn't built up for that. He started Vuelta '18 with 20(!) race days more than any year Froome took part of it, and already got two shape peaks (spring and middle summer).

Ruben Guerreiro? Hmmm still better than Katusha though I hope he finds his space there, won’t be easy.

Trek, on the other hand, have signed both Quinn Simmons and Antonio Tiberi, super quick.

You know, I'm praying Guerreiro doesn't go to EF. They're not my stile, at all, and there's a history of riders moving there and failing to fullfil potential Frown

TheManxMissile
Trek sign Simmons for 2020 (Jnr RR WC), and Tiberli (Jnr TT WC) for 2021.
____

WADA throwing serious shade at Spain, saying they have identified 11 cyclists who were discovered to have cheated in Puerto, but are not allowed to name them because of legal reasons. Sounds like they also found some names in other sports as well, including a couple of high profile footballers.
Directly blaming the Spanish lawyers and legal system for deliberately preventing WADA from getting access to the blood bags, preventing them from bringing actions to court, and just in general being purposefully unhelpful to protect their big name stars.
