WOW, Ala is a beast! Before TDF I thought he can win KOM for a second time, but this... Big congrats. Hope he'll be in yellow for a long time.
Also great TT from Pinot! Really happy for him. Also Uran, Porte, Mas and Mollema rode good.
Only it's a shame that Kreuziger had not his day... I hope it'll be better for him in next days...

Good stage all in all, in particular because many contenders performed. Hoping for Mas, Tibopino and Kruiswijijik from here on out. Any day for Ala in yellow is a gift to mankind however. Lets see how far he gets with it.

Reading quite a lot of comments how unusual this is on other outlets. Not sure about that since Alaphilippe has been winning TTs in the past on several occassions. With a course that suits him due to the ground (best ardennes rider) and a great form, it might still be a bit surprise, but not out of the blue.

Here is my statement: that echelon stage where Porte, Pinot et al decided definitely that Thomas will win this 106th TDF. Had it not happened there would have been a chance to see Thomas not winning. But now, all is decided. Do not expect anything from upcoming stages - Ineos will control everything.
Okey I still believe that I am wrong but after all those years....
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Also this was a mid length TT which helped Alaphilippe. He wouldn't have won a similarly hilly 50 km TT.

Great ride from Alaphilippe. Certainly makes the next few days very interesting.
Still think Thomas will win though

It is a comment in the cn tt article
https://www.cyclin...3/results/
My predictions: JA will fade. Impossible for him to keep this up. Kruijswijk will fade too. We have 8 riders all within 1:30 of each other, all climbers fighting for 2 podium spots, and the climbs haven't started. I'm really excited for this, 4 never made a podium before (Bernal, Buchmann, Yates, Martin). 2 have 9 podiums (Uran, Quintana). if GT fades, it will be MAYHEM! Love it!
At least he got two upvotes with this prediction.
On a more serious note, it is appalling how this comment sectio has zero clue about anything.

On a more serious note, it is appalling how this comment sectio has zero clue about anything. Cn comment section is full of people who are even worse than an average troll. The forum is so much better however with many knowledgeable users (I recommend you to check Libertine Seguros especially) even though it becomes much worse in July with an army of Skyfans. (And we also have some people there who used to post here but sadly don't do nowadays like Riis or ruben.)

Yes, this forum is suffering a lot from very low activity and many quality users left this forum long ago. (issoisso, Aquarius, kumazan just to name a few) And Riis also seems to have left here. (I wasn't always in agreement with him - especially with Contador and Quintana - but we had similar views on state of cycling and we both enjoyed talking about race designs and routes which is one of the most interesting topics of cycling for me)

I have witnessed Sky dominate the Tour since I was 12. It needs to stop. Please make it stop. Anything to make it stop.
How fortunate you are to be so young. I already had to endure years of US Postal riding exactly the same way.

I've watched one race, it was amazing. Much less calculated!
The thing with men vs women sports is that the lack of physicality is often perceived badly, especially in ballgames, for obvious reasons. The only thing this translates to in cycling is how fast they're going, and to be honest that doesn't really matter when you're watching it. |
