Should have been a clear relegation of Ewan though, crashing Bonifazio into the spectator. |

Alas, if you have a good reputation you can get away with a lot. I don't think it was intentional to cut him off, more just to grab Groenewegen's wheel, but still dangerous.
Feel bad for Bonifazio regardless. Had a real shot at a TDF podium, and for a rider like him, that opportunity might not come very often.

Not very different to Sagan (following Demare wheel) that hit Cavendish on Vittel Stage '17, Ewan was just a meter in advance avoiding to collide with Bonifazio. Looking also Viviani dsq in Giro (or Nizzolo in '16 last Giro stage), there aren't same rules applicated definetly

Yeah, there's no dominant sprinter at the moment which makes it a bit more exciting. I reckon that the standard is probably a bit lower at the moment. A Cavendish, Kittel or Greipel from 5 years ago would all probably sweep up all bunch sprints against this current crop.

Yeah, but this year there's no team solely dedicated to their sprinter. Sagan has a few climbers in the team, Viviani has Alaphillipe, Ewan has Wellens and Benoot, Groenewegen has Kruisjwik and Benett, etc etc
So, big question of the day when will Rui Costa initiate his futile attempt to bridge to the front group?

Rohan Dennis is DNF. Massive curve ball for tomorrow's TT.

Did Calmejane do anything ever since his great TdF stage win 2(?) years ago?

I remember climbing Col de Peyresourde very well, such a magnificient climb. It was a few days after the Tour had passed and all the names were still writtne on the road. Wonderful climb.
I climbed Aspin before and Aspin afterwards on that ride. Bonked hard on top of Aspin the second time lol

Peloton climbing at the same speed as Sagan who is vainly trying to drop back to the bunch. Is there a TT tomorrow perchance?
Never know maybe the last climb will see more action as a result, though it's too far out for anything too exciting I guess. Break action will hopefully be good.

Awful stage design as usual to put a mountain stage before a TT. Like they have learned nothing over the years.

Aspin has an amazing view down both sides of the valley from the summit. Would be great to get back to the Pyrenees one day...
