Ah, a proven doper getting a GT win after another obvious doper gets caught. The state of cycling, so brilliant.
(Before anyone that says Froome got cleared etc. let me just say that I don't have any time for that kind of bullshit)

Bauke Mollema just got himself a GT podium as well.
I mean, we all knew Cobo was doped, but... he certainly wasn't any more so than Froome in that particular race. And the main reason Froome lost to Cobo was that he lost time on the MTF to Estacion de Manzaneda after working for Wiggins.
And even with that, the main reason Cobo won the race was the time bonuses. On total time Froome was in front but Cobo gained more than 30 seconds on Froome through bonuses.

Also, a question:
Why did it take them 8 years to realise Cobo had unusual values in his biologic passport? The values come from 2009 and 2011, but didn't the biologic passport already exist back then?
So, why this particular timing? Isn't this weird? |

So, why this particular timing? Isn't this weird? Agreed.

Perhaps Cobo is running for a political position in Spain.

Quoted for truth. The shitshow that is the UCI always find ways to make fun of itself.

Maybe that's the reason why this is exploding now, someone wants to put dust over him?

That's the same guy who didn't get a contract renewal prior to racing Vuelta because he was so bad.

Yeah and it's not like they weren't renewing with one of their leaders. He wasn't good enough to be a water carrier

I think it's smart. It became clear he isn't in the psychological and physical state to target the race with good ambitions, he will be fresh as a lettuce for the Vuelta and WC's this way, and as he has before also can take Binckbank on the way.

Flanders Classics will organise the cyclocross World Cup from 2020 on. The goal is to make cyclocross more successfull.
In a way I can understand the decisio to take out of UCI hands, but Flanders Classics is kinda ruthless, so I have my doubts if it's a good move overall.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Simon Yates will support brother Adam in the Tour. Surprising if you ask me, unless he somehow catapults into the battle for yellow, this is looking to become an underwhelming season for him. |
