Hell yeah! Chad Haga win an awesome win! He was in really bad shape after the Giant team crash back in 2016, but he's come back to win a GT TT. Wow.

That first grand tour in years lost for strategy and not for legs... Nibali should have won this, but anyway it's amazing see Carapaz on top, you can feel his emotions...maybe the greatest sport achievement ever for Ecuador |

If Landa had pushed harder yesterday, done maybe a couple of more pulls, he would have had the podium. But he was caging for the stage just a tiny bit too much.

What? Except for whining, Nibali hasn't shown a lot this Giro. Definitely not enough to deserve the win.
Very deserved win for Carapaz.

Carapaz was witty enough to benefit from Roglic and Nibali's myopic strategy. Trully deserved, showed great legs, perhaps the rider who was most consistent during the three weeks. Really deserved, what a day for cycling and for Ecuador. |

He certainly didn't deserve it, and I don't think he had the legs either. But you look back to when Nibali was being cagey with Roglic in the early mountain stages, and it might be the difference in the race. Certainly a lapse of strategy too.

On the way to Lago SerrĂ¹ Nibali and Roglic were really playing and also the day later they weren't full gas...maybe he had no same legs than Carapaz but what he gained with TTs was comfortably enough to win this giro...clearly a bad strategy defeat

Carapaz was a great winner could not have been much better (Astana aside but that is just me), sadly the giro was not as good as we sometimes have seen.

Carapaz with a deserved win for me, looked really strong in the mountains. Took perfect advantage of his early outsider status and never showed any weakness.
Also lol at De Gendt. "Oh, I haven't won a stage yet? Let's try the time trial!"
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Not a glimmer of weakness from Carapaz the whole 3 weeks. You get the impression he could've done more if he had to.
Two solid TT's when it mattered (one mediocre one when it didn't), a very punchy stage win and a climbing/descending/climbing stage win too when Nibali and Roglic were going full on in that downhill to get him back, he held them off then had plenty enough to ride away in the false flat finale, whether others were marking each other or not. Not to mention Nibali tried on a number of occasions to dislodge him but absolutely nothing doing.
Also a couple of occasions when Landa went off the front Carapaz subsequently attacked, got the gap then proceeded to take large chunks out of Landa's lead before the stage finish. Super strong throughout.
With more established Movistar options on the wane (?) will he now start doing something outside of the Giro?

But in the end the worst lack of this Giro was Tom Dumoulin
