Most deserved winner today. Great ride from Fuglsang, super consistent. Ala needs a rest. |

I love it when my stream crashes with 500 meters to go.
Regardless, congrats to Fuglsang.

Fuglsang took part in 9 events so far:
- DNF in Clasica de Almeria
- 6th in Vuelta a Murcia
- 4th in Itzulia
- Podium in Strade Bianche, T-A, AGR and FW
- Victory in Vuelta a Andalucia and LBL
What a beast!

A very deserved win, clearly the strongest rider in this Ardennes season. Who needs a punch with that raw power.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Tuned in to watch LBL and didn't even know that they had changed the final part of the race WTF! No Saint-Nicholas etc. I thought the rain and cold would make an exciting race though until the sun came out and the race turned out to look like Amstel Gold but nowhere near as exciting.
The organizers seem to have got the change with Amstel right but imo totally wrong with LBL. Anyway the most deserving and best rider won.

It's a real shame Fuglsang's quite a late bloomer, such a likeable rider. Quite a contender for the next PCM.Daily Favourite Cyclist Contest.

So, Valverde apparently fell in a training ride three days prior to Liège and injured his coccyx. |

After that Ardennes Week and that LBL I'm glad I extended Fuglsang's contract in the ICL.

I think given Valverde's age it's no real surprise. He was always going to taper off at some point. Last year he came up short in the GTs, this year he seems to have lost his one-day edge. Retirement at the end of the season?

I think that Valverde knew last season that he had won all the classics that he was going to win and finally accepted that he was never going to win another GT (his only one many moons ago) he saw the Worlds with a course that suited him as being his final crowning achievement. This season has been his poorest so far in general and I also agree that retirement is not far off maybe this season or next season but that's not to say he won't throw a surprise or two.
