Rein managed to neutralize this stage, now for a nailbiting stage 20

Another 5th place stage finish is solid. Ill take it. Wish it would have been Sergis instead of egger though because that would have meant a healthy climb in the KoM classification and probably also a smaller gc rise. The u25 one looks fine now too.

What would the interest be for Stage 20 to have the same live report style as De Ronde? If a few of the Top 10-15 on GC managers are around this morning Euro time I'll do it.

I would like a report like that... especially because of the fight for the last place of the podium where Gesink is involved

I think it's too heavy, and I'm not around to follow it live anyway.

Have to say I barely add anything for a live report and in fact both De Ronde and this were both made that way after I was done (in fact De Ronde is shorter than Toussuire, Tourmalet and Plateau de Beille at least), maybe some upcoming climb profiles in De Ronde. Maybe it's just the length of my reports (which I do think is too long and after this I might work on cutting down slightly) which isn't your type

A live report would be fun, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to follow it live. But still, it makes for a nice read afterwards, and it obviously adds tension for those able to follow it live |

Reis up front is good.
Vinhas towards the back is bad.
Intxausti in the middle is not ideal, but I can live with that.
We're off to a great start!

I'm not liking Gesink's tactics....he just has to follow the sicard and does not have to work for anyone

Drama! And unfortunate to see Gesink feel he should chase, as Spilak's aggression could easily have been rewarded if not. Now, it seems like this has played in the hands of Taaramäe, who I suspect will control things from here.
Galta on a difficult day was of course to be expected after yesterday's heroics, but great to see him put up a fight for that 7th place, bridging solo to the group. He should be able to defend, but you never know if he runs completely out of gas. Fingers crossed! |

Brilliant stuff by Nerz! Also, it seems like Galta is really, really struggling to keep up at the back of the group there. Hoping he can move up slightly in the group, maybe letting him ride with others whenever he gets dropped again here |

Nerz better win this stage.
Also, if Gesink loses his podium after all that chasing can we change to PCM18?

If Nerz can't win then Wellens has to.
Also, if Gesink wins this stage can we change to PCM18?

Olala, this is starting to look like a sensational twist, with the gap being 55 seconds for Spilak and Lecuisinier
And what a surprise behind as well, with Galta coming back to Barguil! Would be quite something if he can hold his wheel all the way to the finish. |
