What a good ride from Intxausti. It's another irritating near-miss, but a very strong performance. Not sure what to expect now. We have the quality to squeeze into the top10, but the race has only led us to failures whenever there are climbs.
The GC fight is as good as one could have expected. Spilak with the sneaky result to bring the duel back to life. Congrats Cro.
Disregarding my team's interests this has been a very interesting Tour so far!

Now have my posting schedule sorted. Will drop the flat Stage 14 between La Toussuire and Ventoux with 12 hour gaps to create a 3 day mountain run, keeping the 24 hour gaps otherwise before a big final weekend with the three Pyrenees stages on Saturday AM, PM and Sunday AM before a Sunday evening Champs-Élysées finish. Hope you all have serious yellow fever by then.
By that I mean Tour de France hype, not a life-threatening virus. If you did though, at least I’m giving you plenty to read!

No yellow fever here but thanks for the schedule infos and also thanks for the quality reports so far!
As for today's stage, we at least had our second (?) early breakaway appearance now. Apart from being on the right side of the split (at least with Haig), the stage again hasn't been too interesting for us..

There was a split? Didn’t even notice! Luckily no major GC names or that’s be a huge screw up reporting wise

Great lead-out. Gerts is clearly not a sprinter so we lost some momentum with him. Someone between him and Grosu and we would have had a pretty strong train here.
Still, Grosu managed to pull another win and now we are looking for number three. We haven't had more than one stage win in the Tour since the three stage wins from our debut when Van Stayen (2) and Vaugrenard brought home the bacon.

3rd is a very good result from Tzortzakis!
It will probably be the final ever GT stage podium by him, so we are celebrating :-)
Now we can hopefully begin to see Lecuisinier doing well and getting some decent stageresults too. In that regard he has been slightly below-par...

Happy with 4th by Vesely, definitely a good result. And again he seems to aim for more when he has the chance, just unfortunate that Bertilsson immediately took his wheel
Really a huge leadout for Ahlstrand, which must make it kind of disappointing to see the Swede not finish the job, but congratulations on another stage, alexkr! |

First of all what a great preview and awesome reports, jandal7 you are doing a great job!
I'm really looking forward to the mountain stages, I have my whole team setup to go for KoM/breakaways. But to be honest for the last two years this PCM version doesn't seem to recognize it at all (that I have a great overall climber squad), maybe this race will be different (keeping hope alive :-))

The ITT was excellent. Not sure what my riders are doing here. Far better than during the rest of the season. Though, just like tsmoha, I am highly concerned about Dekker`s chances for breakaways and he will surely slip down during the mountains, so point wise might not be the best to be that high right now. Still love what he is doing here.
Bastille Day obviously means Gallopin attack! Please. He hasn`t shown a lot yet and just like Zardini hopefully is having a nice amount of breakaways in the 2nd half. |

Go Spilak! What a great stagewin!
It looked really dull for Lecuisinier during the climbs, but he played it cool and got himself a decent looking result. Unfortunately no gaps to Gesink, and further seconds lost til Sicard who will be impossible to catch I think.
Still 5th is OK looking at the competition, although I believed 4th would be possible.
Also a good effort from Vasyliv today to climb inside the top 30 - and Le Roux just surviving in 2nd for the KOM. Some good points.

I didn`t expect to climb a spot in the GC after this stage but Dekker amazingly recovered towards the end and simply diesel`d himself to the Taaramae group again. Won`t be that easy in mountain top finishes unfortunately hence point wise still not sure it`s good for my team if he slowly drops to 12th or 14th in the end.
Taaramae that weak is a surprise, Spilak the big winner today with Keinath also going up slowly.
So Nerz is the Tour de France annoying KoM hunter going into every break...
Will be interesting if he can hold up Spilak as top GC rider collecting a lot as well.
Great report! Massive amount of information. |

This has been a fantastic surprise, making up for the hit Spilak had to take from Taaramae earlier on. Will be very interesting to see how Taaramae strikes back, but I hope for a further aggressive Spilak in yellow.

I wanted to stop asking for breakaways, right?
Haig solid again. We won't get anything from stage results that way, but at least he's in contention for the Top-15 GC.

Very well reported race, this mountain stage was particularly thrilling. Schelling had my hopes up for a moment. He did do well to stay with the leaders, but it was disappointing to see his group get caught in the end. Top-15 looks very doable. A stage like this is the best he will perform, and he would need to do this for the rest of the race for a top-10, so I don't think that is happening.

Kangert and Karnulin finishing with Taaramae in this tough mountain stage is amazing. Especially Kangert is riding an exceptional Tour so far.

Wow, big surprise to see Taaramäe on such an off day. Must admit I didn't think he had it in him, even. Big congratulations, Croatia! Great work by Spilak to actually make it count as well, given the downhill finish of the stage. Putting the pressure on early clearly worked in his favour.
Good to see Galta coming to life, but he really needs to learn from Nerz, and hopefully quickly, as that stage 13 seems perfect for getting into the breakaway, and hopefully caring about KoM points, like Nerz does. That's the only way he can have a decent Tour, to do similar to how he did in the Vuelta, where he saved his race through breakaways.
And thank you for a great report, jandal! |

Sorry the cursor is in the pictures, that day for some reason it stopped disappearing when I took screenshots. It was either fixed (by manually moving it to the edge ) towards the end or on Stage 14.

Massive disappointment. Haig suffers even more than Dyball and we do not make a Nerz and give a sh*t about breakaways. I wish the AI would know, that this would be our only chance for something of note here.. Well. Here's still hoping, that we will join a break at some point...
