Stage 4 really wasn't good with Dekker losing time on direct rivals. Hopefully using it later on to attack for KoM, stages and couple of GC gain chances. |

Certainly been an exciting opening to the TdeF with the GC already significantly altered. In some cases a shame to see so much time being lost early, but might make for more aggressive racing from those lower down GC as the race evolves? Hope so at any rate!
Great reports Jandal, and congrats to our winners to date acrtoss the first 4 stages.
(and P.S. - aren't the PCT wildcards doing well ).

Slow start for us, the right racing but Spilak underperforming as he should be the best Puncheur here
Gesinj could be more if a threat than we hoped for

But what a way to start the race for the team, better was almost impossible.
In the initial stage Gesink got a good result with the top10 but above all gaining a few seconds to the competition.
In the second stage Kupfernagel did what I wish he had done more throughout the season, far from being a favorite, managed to discuss the stage and finish in an honorable 5th place.
Stage 3 brought the highlight of the season for the team, Vogt to do what he had never done in two years and finish an excellent stage in the top 10.
To finish in the best way Gesink gets a magnificent victory (incredibly the first of the season for us) and on top, winning precious seconds for his opponents.
In the last stage what I feared happened, we do not have the capacity to command the squad, yet Gesink managed to maintain the leadership and still increase the advantage for many of the direct competitors.
Let's see how long this good form can last, nor with a perfect race can we save from the descent but at least we can enjoy some success

Not much to say about our Desigual group, but the reports have sure been fun to read.

Great 1-2 by Kraftwerk. Congrats on this one.
Good stage for me. Was surprised to see a double attack mid stage from Gallopin/Zardini but that`s what they are here for. Actually was hoping to see one of them in the early break already on a stage like this.
Dekker with an okay result as well not really losing on rivals and gaining on some with Boom probably looking for him.
And while Zardini "only" got up to 4th unfortunately, that`s some stage points while Gallopin surprisingly dropped down a bit. Presume, he was working more than Zardini in the break attempt then. |

Great to see Le Roux in the polkadots here! I was sad he didn't get it yesterday, but it proved the right thing, as he went on to give it another go.
The jersey can be lost tomorrow, if the wrong person(s) get away, but we can only hope it won't happen. If so, Le Roux will keep it until stage 8 - where he will obviously lose it no matter what. But a couple of days in polkadots would be very nice.
I hope Tzortzakis can give it a shot tomorrow, although he is usually not very good after the first couple of stages anymore

Upwards and onwards! I'll take anything I can get from Galta here, so up to 51st overall must be taken as something good
And what a stage and tactical masterpiece by Kraftwerk. Winning two stages already, surely they're making life difficult for the PT teams.
Vakoc has been solid on the hills here, which has been a good thing. A stage win was always going to be difficult, but he came really close on the stage Gesink won, which we can be happy with.
Hoping for Vesely to step up now, as the three upcoming sprint stages all should give him a decent chance at stage podiums. |

Not the success we need. Got almost nothing from our hill advantage here

Flügel! Kraftwerk! Amazing stage for them! Also great racing from Rein, staying with Spilak and actually taking time from Gesink. Awesome!

Behind Grosu and Ahlstrand, the sprints feel like a lottery. Vesely hasn't really been on the right wheels this far, but hopefully that can change for at least a stage or two as the race progresses.
Congratulations on a big win, alexkr! |

That was almost a perfect stage...
Le Roux doing absolutely brilliant here to stay in the KOM battle. Probably not enough points to survive stage 8 still in the top 3 (points giving position), but one could cross fingers that he would attack to snatch a few points to do so...
And to see Tzortzakis giving it a real show for his money, was a true pleasure. Obviously I would have loved to see him take one final GT win in the fall of his career, but this is certainly much more interesting than to see him follow a wheel to take 5th or 6th, eventhough the points are fewer.
Now for the most dreaded of all the stages for us... Lecuisinier is probably losing white because of the distance to Haig and/or Benoot...
I have to cross my fingers that RBC isn't doing all that well, but we have a horrible TTT setup here, as in proper bullshit. If we can somehow limit the losses to 2 minutes to Bennelong it would be a huge surprise. Luckily Lecuisinier SHOULD be able to bring the white back after one day.

Not surprisingly for me the lost time in this TTT, with a team of 80-72-68-66-63-63-59-58 something else would not be expected. Surprise for me is Gesink continue with the yellow jersey after this stage.
The team will have in the next stage the first fire test, built to help Gesink on the mountain with 83-76-76-73-72-71-62-53 in MO stat. If at the end of the next stage Gesink continues to wear the yellow jersey then he can take it until stage 12.
