Welcome to Le Duo 2019! Throughout the whole year you’ll have the pleasure to watch cycling and here you’ll have the chance to show how good you are at predicting it. Let’s face it most of us are in constant desire to show they know cycling the best, at least I do, and it’s a very simple idea and a very simple game to play though and you can invest whatever time you want in it.
The concept is very simple, I have chosen a total of 65 races in the 2019 season, including all WT events, World and National championships and several non-WT races, the list of races is in the spoiler below and it captures the essence of every type of racing in road cycling. And for every race you will choose 2 riders, but a rider can only be chosen once in a season.
Races:
This mini-game will move along at the exact same speed as the real life racing we all love obviously, so it’ll make for a long and exciting season where consistency is key and everything can change until the very end. From the beginning in the Australian summer, travelling through the Middle East, watching the Belgian Cobbles and all of the 3-week racing madness, but until the very end of October there will be plenty of racing with the Italian Autumn classics and exotic stage-racing to make for a brutal season ending where having strong pics is vital.
The races have different categories, with stage-racing and one-day racing being divided into 5 categories, with Le Tour and the Yorkshire Worlds being the epitome of each. The points file, alongside with the full list of races is available down below.

In the national championships each manager is allowed to choose 2 countries, and have 2 rider per race, below is a spoiler with every nation that is ellegible.

The scoring is the same as 1.HC+ races.
As a secondary note I didn’t add in any women’s races as I don’t have the habit of watching them, nor is my knowledge on them very good. CX, XCO and Track would be complicated to add in and some managers would likely not know who to choose on. So this season it will be purely a men’s road racing mini-game.
Rankings:
The rankings also work in a very simple manner. Every race you will gain a certain amount of points (or none), those points will add to your tally which will be updated with every race throughout the season. The big winner will be crowned after the Tour of Guangxi in late October.
One important factor to take into contention is that in the end of each month there is a monthly classification that will award points to the 3 managers that score more in the specific month. The bonus points come as following: 1st – 30; 2nd – 20; 3rd – 10.
Extras:
To enhance the strategies involved I have included some extras that you can use during the season:
5x Bland Race – This extra allows you to not choose any rider for a specific race and get the same points as the manager that got the middle classification in the race. In case it’s an uneven number it’s the points of the first manager behind the middle classification. (ex: with 16 managers in a race you get the points of the 8th placed in the race. With 17 managers you get the points of the 9th placed manager in the race.)
3x Double Points – This extra doubles the total points the manager obtained during that specific race. This extra is NOT allowed in GT’s
3x Extra rider – This extra allows the manager to pick an extra rider for this specific race. This extra is NOT allowed in GT’s.
Only one extra can be used per race, and they have a limit use of 5 and 3 races per season as indicated.
Rider Selection:
As previously mentioned you are allowed to choose 2 riders per race (you can of course choose 1 or none but that logically isn’t a smart option). You can choose them 1 hour prior to the event start, the exact time I will let you know for every race in advance. The riders you choose for a race can’t be repeated throughout the season. The points file is available down below and in order to participate in the race you should PM me with the race row copied. You can send multiple races at once if you so want, no limits when it comes to that, you can also send me a simple PM with the riders chosen and if you will use an extra in that race, although the copied row is the advisable way of making the selection. But as long as it's clear you can send in whatever way you want. I will send a Pm around 2 days before the deadline to be safe.
In the extra column if you are using the Extra Rider extra just put in the name of the 3rd rider. If you are using the double points just write “Double Points” in it. If you are using the Bland Race write so in the extra column and do NOT write anything in the riders column (doing so will annul your scoring in the race if the issue isn’t fixed in time). There is also the name organization page, you’re not obligated to use that, it’s just a minimalistic tool to have an easy organization and not repeat names.

This is the thread where I will post race results and classification updates. Do NOT comment here, it is a purely informative thread that is only used for all types of rankings, which I will update after every race and in the end of each month. If a race starts in a month and finishes in the next, it’s points will only count to the month it finishes in.
Others:
In addition I’ll add that I am allowed to make changes to the game during the season. Nothing important of course, just maybe the addition of a race, change of dates, allowing some extra hours to choose a rider in specific case, etc. It is the case because it’s the first season of the game and in case some mistake or change happens or anything that can change the game’s dynamics occurs it will quickly be fixed.
Signups are open all season long in addition so feel free to join even if you come late!

And as some of you may still not really understand very well how the game works I'll give a bit more insight. Really I believe it'll easily and naturally be understood, all you have to do is pick 2 riders for each race of the calendar (except NC's) and you can't choose the same rider more than once in the season, it's as simple as that, and I'll supervise everyone so mishaps don't occur. The bonuses may also make a bit of confusion, my tip is not to use them now, I won't, and when you've got your head around the game well then think of the best races to use them, the most important races are still in a few months so there's plenty of time 
As for the race selection well I guess it may be easier to simply PM me with the riders you'll choose (and extras when you so want), as long as it's clear there's no issue.

The hard one I think is to guess when to use the "best" rider and that may be hard for anyone.

Yeah, no-one will know that really That's the real challenge of the game. My advice is to leave some good riders for the final months of the season, never choose a rider that doesnt look in good form. Pretty much choose good riders that are in good form, that should kinda be the best way to go. And not to be afraid to choose a top rider early and not to save a rider for a specific race which is months away (unless its a GT) cause you never know when injuries/ilness can happen, so best to use them when you know they should score
