Rui Costa another year with Emirates. Rolling Eyes He could have just gone to W52 next year, maybe best trick to start winning again, especially because they applied for a PCT spot for 2019. Pfft

Last time I read information about it, they sent the documents after the majority of the teams and the decision would be announced in the beginning of November. Not sure if there has been some contraindication regarding that appeal... but our nature is to leave everything for the last minute and be the final ones doing whatever we’re supposed to do. Smile

The sad irony is that if he had stayed on his bike in the first place this wouldn't have happened. All the best for his recovery.

I can't open the article on my work computer. Is he considering para-cycling? Maybe we'll see him in Tokyo in 2020.

I sure hope so! It broke my hearth seeing those pics some months ago, Adrien looked like a broken man.. But seeing these is awesome, he seems to have accepted and already enjoying within possibilities the thing that showed the world who he is.

Also Gaviria is almost confirmed in UAE, Michal Schlegel also heavily rumoured to "join" the CCC squad (particularly fond of this one Smile )

Fucking Joker, honestly it's quite pathetic they can't get into PCT. Riwal before an established team who has trained up many, many Norwegian stars is frankly insanity.

Gaviria not almost but fully confirmed at UAE. Interesting market approach from the team. How will they manage both Kristoff and him is something to follow with care.

Bruyneel 10 years suspension extended to life ban

Really a shame to suspend Bruyneel for lifetime. What happened to forgiveness? It seems so subjective whom to ban and whom to forgive. When will the general understanding of what happened in the past be understood as an overall problem in the sport? What happened in the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's and most likely also today is not one man's project. This is a sport problem.
If you suspend Bruyneel for lifetime what about Vinokourov? Ochiowitz? Valverde? Basso? Virenque? Landis?
Why do we forgive them?

The big difference with Lance and Johan is how they actively destroyed other peoples careers and lies to defend their lies. Going out of their way to discredit opponents, personally attack their characters, get them sacked and excluded from the sport and more!

There's cheating, which i don't like and i don't really forgive either (i made my views clear on Valv when he won the Worlds, the due never apologised and as far as i'm concerned is probably still cheating) but there's a big step from taking drugs to what Lance and Johan did.

If you can give me examples of Basso, Virenque, Landis and Ochiowitz getting people blacklisted from cycling, or getting them sacked by lieing in a court of law i'll happily read them!

Why is that even in the consideration when talking about the ethic of cheating? So you are saying the tricker to get life banned from cycling is "lying in court and blacklist other people in the sport"?

In my opinion if you cheat, you cheat. The methods - whatever? They're all lying. And they will still be lying. Not only in this sport. In all sports. Industries. Everywhere.

It pissed me off they make their own rules who can continue and who cannot..
If Valverde can, so can Bruyneel.

Yes that's exactly what i'm saying, thank you for quoting that and making it clear.
There is a difference between someone who just dopes, and someone who dopes and does those other acts.
Both people should get the ban for doping, but the second person who did more bad things should get more of a ban. I don't see how that is a complicated or controversial opinion.

In other news Tour route announced! Shockingly, it will take place mostly in France and will include TT's and Mountains! Some rather nice mountains actually, and the TT's look interesting.
