De Bie not having his best day and neither Thurau/Gallopin it seems.
Good that Boom was apparently on a +5 and Zardini being the consistent helper.
No time loss and now onto the ITT, which hopefully sees De Bie staying in contention and inside top5 with the queen stage then following on the final day.
Thanks for the report and congrats knockout on the stage! |

Am I the only one, who actually thinks that De Bie can defend the race lead in the TT?

Will be interesting to see how this looks after the TT
All in all I am quite happy with how TVG have been doing, considering the field I would expect him to fight around where he is and on the last stage he was really close to a nice stage win

Klemme still hanging on, and a nice surprise to see Avetisyan end up with a random top-10

Stachowiak is such a nice rider, the KOM is the only thing we could hope for here, so while Bernas, Rabottini, Honkisz and Kono fail to even be bothered he hunts the mountains jersey, hopefully he can finish it off! Kaspa also did a good job joining a break.
Thanks for the reports jandal, really well written and an entertaining race so far!

Thanks guys
Great stage for me as Skujins is in good shape here claiming his first stage win of the season.
And he proves everyone mocking his TT stat wrong by finishing the fifth stage better than every team mate. He's leading by example
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Not surprisingly, the Hill stat showing its importance there.
Zingle surprisingly strong in 12th while Cornu struggled. A good day for Zingle on the final stage could mean a very respectable GC placing.

Definitely a missed opportunity for Costa, gaining only one GC position on this stage. And now I start worrying about falling out of the Top 10 with a bad last stage
Congrats on the win DD and thanks for the report jandal

Bobridge much better than Dennis, a good TT ride. This gap to De Bie was just too big. And now to somehow f**k up in the final stage

Waeytens still going strong, if he can hold that top 20 I'd be a happy camper.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Sensational stuff from Vakoc, I certainly take 5th on the stage. Also decent by Beltran, being similar to the riders around him in the overall, except for Bibby and Kangert, of course.
And with the GC still being rather thight, hopefully the final stage gets selective, making its possible to climb some places for Beltran.
Brilliant TT by race leader De Bie too, clearly taking advantage of the hilly profile of the TT. Bobridge also with a good ride, eventhough he would obviously have liked a flatter TT even more, compared to his GC rivals. Must admit I thought the TT would be easier in terms of climbing, looking at the profile pre-race.
Congratulations on the stage win, DubbelDekker! Could well be a rather huge race for Gazelle, having three riders in the top 15 as it stands now. |

Huge ride from Bibby but I'm very happy with Trofimov's performance as well. It should be possible for him to remain in the top-5 tomorrow.
Very curious why Goncalves with 78 TT and 71 HI only finished 100th, must have been -5 form today.

As expect from Bakelants. Still within striking distance, at least for a podium, so hope for another offensive display on the last stage.

Bibby! My man! Great job. To beat world class hilly TT riders Bobridge and Trofimov is a huge performance for him.
This TT definitely put us in a good spot GC-wise. But it all comes down to tomorrow, because there's a large number of very strong puncheurs breathing down our neck. If we get a repeat of stage 2 we'll go home with a massive amount of points. But a repeat of stage 3 could see Bibby and Kangert tumble down to the 10th-15th range. Fingers crossed.

To be honest I really didn't think he could lose it
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Excellent ride by both Dall'Oste and Waeytens. I'm especially impressed with Zico's agressive riding this stage and of course his 14th spot in the GC in a PTHC stage race. He's off the naughty list for now.
Congrats Mitchelton for a win, in a very exciting race. And thanks for the reports Jandal, excellent quality!

A much better team effort at least! Another solid performance from Bakelants. Happy with his race, even though I had hoped for even better on some of the hilly stages.
Very happy on behalf of tsmoha. A perfect race for Bobridge on paper, and while he didn't start if off so good, he certainly ended it perfectly! Congrats
Thanks for the reports, jandal. Great quality!

Not the best race for Sagan, but 5th place is still a decent result in a short race with a TTT and TT which are not really his or my team strenghts. Only too bad he could not take a stage win from here, but it was close.
Anyway, big congrats to tsmoha, what a nice win for his team! And also big thanks to jandal, fantastic reports to read all the way through the race!
