And just like that it's out another minute post feed zone, back in favour of the break, especially given effort versus reward and the day's to come.

Nah.. White said they are willing to let a break go today wich sounds obvious. Climb not really hard so not other team will try to reel it in so it's a sure day for the break imo

I have a hard time believing there's not a single guy in that group that's not a GC guy/domestique who's willing to take a flyer for a stage win.

lol froome on this 5% gradient is the worst thing to look at it. Reduce that cadence man, horrible to look at it.

Well I guess I can't expect every stage of a GT to be an epic mountain top finish, fair enough.
This was a medium mountain stage ending in a very steady 5% climb, where drafting remains important. Considering that (and what's still to come in the immediate future) I was pleasantly surprised.
We got the will-they-won't-they, with the break always in the balance, and then a strong counter from Carapaz, blowing Geniez (edit - think it was actually Cherel) away and catching the rocking, unfortunate Bouwman with just a k to go.
Nothing was certain at any point and a 2 star stage, in terms of likely GC impact, gave some 3.5 star entertainment in the end...also Froome crashed uphill, so there's that too
