Also, what happened to Ulissi in Giro dell'Emilia? Did he crash or what?
Ah yes I think he did. Sorry for not including that in the report, I was so furious when Lutsenko and Ratto dropped back to support Villella that I probably have missed it.
I think Ulissi was also listed in the same crash as victim, but later when I went through the group to see what other big riders were hit, he wasn't there, so I forgot about it.
Thanks for that. I thought so that he probably also was involved in one of the crashes. For the second I was thinking there was a mistake in riders selection but I saw Morton as a CCC rider so it couldn't be that |

Balkan's duo Nerz/Costa is looking very strong late in the season. We still have the brutal queen stage and the long final ITT ahead.

Indeed, the race could still be turned on its head there. Caruso has been riding sublime so far, fingers crossed he'll keep that up for his last 3 days of the season.

Paris - Tours had to be rerun due to a startlist error caused by my faulty startlist file, sorry. At least Barbin got another top 10, even if it wasn't the win.
Vanmarcke might have been disappointing on the cobbles, but his results in other WT classics should make up for that. Coquard now finally beating Kittel (after he was 2nd in all of Kittel's 5 Vuelta stage wins), but still is second.
Nice to see Martin still get a valuable win, surely deserved if looking at his season performances. It showed again Nibali has to finish on his own, if he wants to win. |

Finally a big win for Martin. Happy for marco, long deserved after many close misses in the past by Martin.
I was watching the video and could not believe how powerless Bananito was riding. Then I read that he was involved in a crash so it is likely he was injured. Too bad cuz I think Lombardia suits him best. Fall classics obv not ours this season, with a puncture and crash Luck was always meant to turn at some point. Great team depth though with 4 riders in Top 20 but unfortunately far less than what we came here for, Top 3 was the personal goal.
looks like season may end tomorrow officially?

Didn't see when making the race selections that Lombardia was a mountain race, so i didn't expect anything big from Moser here, but what a performance by him! 7th is an amazing result, and while again he's failing to win a freaking one-day race this season at least he performs in WT level

YES! YES! YES! Dan Martin wins a monument, woohoo! What a result.
Don't forget Bouhanni fourth in Paris - Tours and Jungels third in Chrono des Nations, some great results from the team in the final month!

Degenkolb consistent as always getting 5th in PT
Our luck with mountain races continued with Porte crashing in Lombardia, and that was pretty much the end of our challenge. Would've been a nice end at the top for him to get a decent result, but this probably sums him up the best
I guess the regular season ends today (??). No real hopes for the World ITT Championships though.

Nope, not the best races for us. I guess DVP and GVK are tired after a long season
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Lol, Desjardins beating Durbridge in Nations makes absolutely no sense at all. 9th is a great result for Desjardings, but Durbridge is absolutely terrible

With Chrono des Nations, the season is wraped up - now only World and National Championships are left.

What a way to end the season, sensational performance from Caruso not only in this race but especially during nearly the entire season. He was even kind enough to give long-retired Andy a well deserved stage win.
Great performances as well from Lang in the Queen stage and also Audabert in the time trial, especially the latter was a very nice surprise. Balkan Cycling Project with a superb race and Fuglsang redeemed himself as well in the two last stages.
Japan Cup didn't disappoint either with Puccio just about missing out on the Top 5. Overall I am obviously very pleased with how this season has gone.
Thanks for wrapping up this season Shonak.

Oh you are joking me... SAP pipping us to the wooden spoon, what a disgrace.

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Alright, 7th at TTT WC is right about where we expected, maybe a bit lower but there's no problem as we had decent results in most of our races this here.

Congrats, Vali, another excellent performance by Caruso. For us it was a successful goal race, 4th, 7th and 16th, two stage wins and several more podiums. Hats of to Balkan Cycling, great team result. Nice that finally Denifl was our best rider, 13th in the Japan Cup.
Congratulations also to the old and new TTT World Champion!
