I would wait until next week for the "real cobbles".

I believe Terpstra's biggest power is his endurance and his resistance. He is good at keeping a very high pace for a long time in the end of the longest races. His cobble and flat stat should be equal imo, but very high as well.
Maybe 80 for both, 82 for End, 81 for RES. Or is that too much? Smile

Yellow Jersey
END and RES maximum 80, idk how much he has HIL but 74 is the minimum imo, it's where he got the gap today and I remeber quite well the WC's where he was on the attack on Salmon Hill.

Mads, maybe 76 COB, 74 HIL, with decent backups, for now it seems adequate.

Some opinions on skills from my perspective: (of the top10 and some others)
Spoiler
Tersptra - 80FL, 80COB, 75HIL, 80END/RES
Pedersen - 77FL, 76COB, 75HIL, 75END, 78RES
Gilbert - 76FL, 79COB/ACC, 81HIL/
Valgren - 77FL, 78HIL, 77COB
GVA - 77FL, 78HIL, 80COB, 73SPR, 78ACC, 81END, 79RES
Sagan - 76FL, 77HIL, 79COB, 79END, 78RES, 80SPR, 82ACC
Stuyven - 78FL, 74HIL, 78COB, 77END, 78RES
Benoot - 76FL, 79HIL, 79COB, 79 END/RES
van Aert - 76FL, 76HIL, 78COB, 75END/RES
Stybar - 78FL, 77HIL, 79COB, 79END, 78RES
Kristoff - 75FL, 72HIL, 78COB, 80END, 77RES, 80SPR, 78ACC
Démare - 75FL, 74HIL, 77COB, 77END, 75RES, 80SPR/ACC
Naesen - 78FL, 73HIL, 79COB, 78END, 77RES
Vanmarcke - 77FL, 75HIL, 79COB, 78END/RES
Trentin - 78FL, 76HIL, 77COB, 77END, 78RES

I think the best thing is to wait PR to confirm/deny what happened till now

The sprinters passing the coast have a note too high in the mountains I find, for example Sagan finished 11th in a Tour de France exploding a little in the last week while the course had no step paved and Sagan did not take a breakaway and did not benefit from falling favorites for the overall standings.

I find that doing cobble stats after Flanders worthwhile as its a combo of four important stats in flat, cobble, hill and RES and the finale of the Belgian cobbles. Roubaix gives up different stats that can be treated as a separate exercise and quite often gives riders that haven't done that well at times in the Belgian classics their true worth like Stybar and Langeveld last season. I tend to find that Flanders confirms who should be increased and Roubiax more on who should be decreased.

As for the sprinters and chatting with the other team members. I think the easier method may well be to decrease their rec rather than their mtn and RES. If all sprinters are decreased then they will be in the same boat for sprints in the final week

In these days I always starts wondering, if someone could again win four monuments one day - or if someone could do it in PCM.

So which stats do you think Benoot, Kwiatkowski and Moscon should have?

My opinion:
Moscon - 75 MO, 76 HI, 78 TT, 77 COB, 70 SP
Kwiato - 75 MO, 81 HI, 76 TT, 75 COB, 72 SP
Benoot - 76 MO, 76 HI, 68 TT, 79 COB, 68 SP

What do you say?

In my opinion:

Kwiatkowski 76 MO, 80 HI, 77 COB, 72 SPR
Moscon 75 MO, 76 HI, 77 COB, 70 SPR
Benoot 74 MO, 76 HI, 78/79 COB

Nibali and Phil could both win 5 monuments Wink
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I think Julien Vermote deserves a boost to his cobble stat, based on his performances in the Ronde and even more in Gent-Wevelgem where he finished in the leading group.

maybe this Ronde was a try by Nibali for planning 2019 season? Shock

A general question throwing out here:

Do you guys think that Terpstra is a better flat rider or cobble or the same? As there are differing opinions with the stats team.

He was impressive on the cobbles this year, but also on the flat final. So I'd give him rather high on both, as well as stamina. Maybe 82/82/82 is too much, but for me he was the strongest rider this year.

GVA not on the level of 2017 and Vanmarcke never gave the impression he was the best on the cobbles, let alone off the cobbles. Sagan won Roubaix, but showed weakness in Ronde and E3.

The real question, how strong can we make Wout van Aert? I've seen stuff that makes me say 80 cob, but I know it's a lot.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

AiZaK
Van Aert 77/78 COB
Niki Terpstra 82 COB 80 FLA
Sagan 81 COB
GVA 80 COB
Vanmarcke 79 COB
Gilbert 78 COB

At the moment this is what's going in for the top four riders, unless I'm convinced otherwise:

Terpstra Flat 81 Cobble 80 RES 80 STA 80
Sagan Flat 80 Cobble 79 RES 80 STA 79
GVA Flat 79 Cobble 80 RES 79 STA 80
Vanmarcke Flat 79 Cobble 80 RES 78 STA 78

The principal issue I have with this choice is that we are lowering the top cobble stat from 81 to 80. GVA had 81 last year and I'd say Terpstra was as good as GVA on the cobbles this year. Also I wasn't keen on having Terpstra 2 points more cobble than Sagan. The option could be to raise Sagan to 80 cobble but when he had 80 cobble before he was too strong (like winning nearly every cobble race he entered and unless exhausted will always beat the others in a sprint) It will be a case of just juggling the numbers aroun here. Even with all this I'd still rate Sagan as the strongest taking every stat in the game into consideration especially if he arrives to the line with any of the others.

riders like Pedersen and Dillier etc will be around the 77/76 flat and cobble range for the simple reason they shone in one of the monuments and not both but have strong backup stats and the races where they did well it will be in the fav races.

Van Aert a different case as was solid and impressive in nearly every race he entered and I like 76 flat and 78 cobble with an emphasis here that he is a spring classics specialist

I've also noticed that the rider with the highest stat based on the game engine is always going to go for a long solo attack and by having at least 3 riders on the top cobble stat that may confuse the game AI and add variety in who attacks

I think there wasn't a clear stronger cobbler than Terpstra, so he should should have at least the joint highest cobble rating in the game, but his flat is still a skill higher than his cobbles.

Maybe also increase his stamina and resistance. Seems like he can maintain high effort for ages.

Having Tersptra 1 point more on cobble at 81 will make him the obvious rider for that long attack and with the RES he has should be good enough to pull it off. Or we could just raise his RES and STA a point more because it's actually his RES that is most impressive compared to the other riders

The big issue is to not overpower riders too much as in the past riders like Sagan, Degenkolb and Kristoff (when those two were at their best) all behaved like supermen, which is why I'm cautious about raising RES more. RES is without doubt imo the most important stat in the game

I agree with most of that, but I can't really see a gap between riders like Vanmarcke and GVA, and WVA. He was in the lead group in Omloop, Ronde and Wevelgem and would've fought for the podium in Roubaix as well if not for the mechanical. He wasn't sitting in the back either, was always taking turns (more than some others Wink ).

I'm guessing that your'advocating 79 cobble for Van Aert?

I do think that 76-77 flat 78 cobble would work for him

Well, I found him the equal of GVA and Vanmarcke in any race, so I dare say even 80 cobble. Lower flat and stamina though.

But ok, based on their history, GVA and Vanmarcke deserve more, so I can agree with 79 COB for Van Aert.
