Vuelta al Pais Vasco Result
Podium
1) Primoz Roglic
2) Mikel Landa
3) Ion Izagirre
Answer to Bonus Question: Who will be highest finishing rider from a PCT team? is Jose Herrada.
Primoz Roglic lived up to his billing as one of the top favourites to win this race. He was picked up by five members for the podium. Landa was the strongest of the climbers in this race, not allowing his weaker TT skills take away from his ride in the hills. Ion Izagirre, another rider who was heavily favoured for a good result, delivered third place. Both Spaniards were very popular among our predictors with nine and eight picks, respectively. Jose Herrada finished 14th and was the highest finishing rider from a PCT team. Two members answered the bonus question correctly.
Both jandal and AbhishekLFC predicted the podium perfectly and get full points plus the double to score seventy points. They did not get the bonus question correct. Selwink takes third place, having picked Roglic, Izagirre and correctly answering the bonus question. No one picked up a zero score among those who participated.
The updated table will be posted along with the Paris-Roubaix results. Stay tuned...

Podium
1) Peter Sagan
2) Silvan Dillier
3) Niki Terpstra
Sagan picked up his first win of the cobbles campaign after a brilliant solo ride from a long way out. He pulled along along Dillier with him to 2nd place, in what definitely a surprise result. Terpstra wrapped up his impressive cobbles campaign with a podium. Unsurprisingly, Sagan was a popular pick with four entries. Also unsurprisingly, Dillier was picked by no one. Terpstra, the man in form, had nine backers, the most for this race.
With both Sagan and Terpstra in his team, and the only one to have so, Raziz picks up the win to maybe kick-start a faltering season. Eevryone else who had Sagan, did not have Terpstra, them being Aquarius, df-Trek and Abhishek, who share second place.
The updated tabel now looks like this...
| Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Total Points | | Aquarius97 | 15 | 55 | 295 | | AbhishekLFC | 15 | 55 | 260 | | Selwink | 15 | 25 | 240 | | df_Trek | 15 | 45 | 235 | | roturn | 15 | 30 | 205 | | Raziz | 15 | 20 | 190 | | Marcovdw | 15 | 40 | 160 | | jandal7 | 14 | 35 | 155 | | purepasd | 14 | 10 | 150 | | FreitasPCM | 15 | 25 | 145 | | hillis91 | 15 | 20 | 135 | | trekbmc | 7 | 20 | 110 | | Croatia14 | 14 | 35 | 65 | | United Forever | 4 | 10 | 40 | | aldrofj | 3 | 10 | 30 | | emre99 | 2 | | 15 |
After a brilliant week, Abhishek moves up to 2nd place in the rankings with Aquarius still holding on to a comfortable lead at the top. Selwink and roturn lose ground after scoring low in this race. df_trek's good showing moves him back within reach of the podium. Marco loses momentum once again with a zero score, but Raziz hopes to have made a turnaround with this race. Croatia was the only other zero score from this race. aldrofj continues his 10 points per race trend.
More races coming up very soon so please keep following this thread. Till then, see you...
