A nice way to bounce back, for sure, but with Penasa continuing to lose time, it seems his GC hopes are going down the drain. It's a long overdue win for Mullen, but still great to see for the Irishman!
We've got two more critical stages to make time back if he's overcome his aches and pains, but it looks like this TT victory will be the only positive to come from Bulgaria. That is, unless Hochmann manages a surprise sprint victory. This stage win was very bittersweet, so apologies for the lack of total enthusiasm.
Cheers for the congrats all, and the reports tsmoha.

Suaza winning here would be an awesome Cinderella Story for Eddie Stobart!

Was hoping for a couple of positions higher from Grabovski but 6th is ok I guess. Expected time loss by Bardet and Battaglin but a good ride from Ruijgh sees him rise in the standings. Hopefully that does not mess up the team dynamic.
Called it didn't I!
So Bardet, who is just 2 mins down in the GC goes into the break, achieves nearly nothing and goes on to lose nearly 5 minutes! Ruijgh as our best placed GC rider loses time which was expected! Battaglin our worst placed climber in the GC is the one who hangs on closest to the lead group. Who writes these scripts?!!
Bardet simply hanging on to Battaglin's group would see him knocking on a top 15 position!
Congrats sutty. Long overdue success for you . Thanks for the report tsmoha!

I just love to see sutty harvest some well-deserved success in this race. KEEP IT UP
Thanks for the wonderful report tsmoha.
I’m a little disappointed even though it was not that bad, hope to see Cataldo now try something a little more daring, and sad to see Kebede again completely losing it, he should be a lot better than + 7'16

Go Suaza! And with Medvedev helping nicely too, both riding in the mountains where they belong.
Nice to see Eastman performing better too. And as always, a good report to read!

If Anacona can survive tomorrow's explosive stage, top 5 should be possible.
Oh boy, he couldn't... Hope Manfredi won't crack now or our GC will end up terribly.
Grats sutty! |

Why did Salinas randomly lose time, he seemed like he was in good form Also was hoping Anton would achieve something there At least two in the top 10 gives hope for stage 5. Now bring on Jams for stage three

That was awful from Valls... So he attacks in a short climb before the final climb to get reeled, and then when the moves for the stage win actually start, he sits behind Serrano, who obviously can't close the gap to Suaza/Karnulin and co. so he ends up using his "sprint energies" to catch the leading group, dropping to 3rd in GC. I know that the gap is only 33 seconds to Suaza (and 18 to Eastman), but with Suaza having the leading bonus, i think the GC is over. Hopefully he can at least climb to 2nd in GC and maybe take another stage win. The only positive thing is that we might join S4's breakaway, as being only 74km, a breakawin win is guaranteed.
Great for Sutty to finally have some success with Suaza, after some crashes and weird schedule for him

Wow Eastman can actually climb with these guys, seriously this is the first time all season he looked like he belonged in that group.

Sad we didn't get in a break, despite not doing well in the GC. That might cost us the team GC.
Praying for Manfredi to do well in stage 5! |

Great to see, over the past two stages, Penasa bouncing back, and Hacecky taking his first win of the season!
We needed these two stage wins from our time trialists (surprisingly) to take some points from Bulgaria. Hopefully Penasa can sneak into the top 10 with a strong ride on the final day, and perhaps Cieslik can pick up some KOM bonus points.
Thanks for the reports tsmoha and the congrats, Abhi and others!
