Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race Result
Podium
1) Jay McCarthy
2) Elia Viviani
3) Daryl Impey
Jay McCarthy and TDU winner Daryl Impey made it to the line in the top 3 after being part of a late escape, whilst Viviani caught the South African in the final sprint to finish second. All three were fairly popular choices, with df_Trek and Aquarius97 picking up max points here, nearly 50 more than the next best guesser. purepasd got Impey and McCarthy whilst jandal and FreitasPCM, who both entered the same (I did it first btw ) got Viviani and Impey. Everyone else guessed one of the podium riders, except, tragically, Croatia14, who despite becoming more mainstream has not become more correct so far this year, with 0 from 2
Here's how the table looks after the second race:
| Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Points | | df_Trek | 2 | | 80 | | Aquarius97 | 2 | | 70 | | Marcovdw | 2 | 15 | 45 | | Selwink | 2 | | 35 | | purepasd | 2 | | 35 | | FreitasPCM | 2 | | 25 | | jandal7 | 2 | | 25 | | trekbmc | 2 | | 20 | | AbhishekLFC | 2 | | 20 | | Raziz | 2 | | 15 | | hillis91 | 2 | | 15 | | roturn | 2 | | 15 | | emre99 | 2 | | 15 | | United Forever | 1 | | 10 | | Croatia14 | 2 | | 0 |
Everyone except United Forever returned for this race and with almost everyone scoring the s̶c̶u̶m̶ ̶s̶u̶p̶p̶o̶r̶t̶e̶r̶ very nice man, I assume, drops down to last (excluding Croatia which is the proper way to measure that). The big hauls from Aquarius (last to second!) and df_Trek see them catapult to the top two whilst Marcovdw, Selwink and purepasd do enough to stay ahead of the rest of the pack after their successful Tour Down Under results. FreitasPCM and jandal are next on 25, trekbmc and Abhishek have 20 whilst four members have 15.
Another reminder (to myself as well ) to submit Set 1 of the Year Long Predictions by the 31st, and see you next time (almost a month ) for the Abu Dhabi Tour!
