Appo crashing and then quickly falling out of the sprint is a pretty bad sign already. At least Nolf was in the break. That's something.

Sterobo droppee, but doubt he would have been any factor in the GC anyway, so hopefully he can put all his focus on the TT now.
Andersen tried (could have been Valgren though) to get in the break, hopefully more of those efforts on the stages to come.
Good for Mohs to get a win after a couple of rather disappointing results.

C'mon Ricki! He's finishing strongly, marginally better placing and he'll win a stage. But if he can hold this consistency and keep picking up Points and time bonuses we can make this into a succesful race!

Slight improvement, maybe tomorrow then?
Disappointed about the team though, Vanbilsen should never be dropped on a stage like this.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

At least we were on the right side of the split, paid off to have some quality flat power here. Brändle and Navardauskas positioning themselves at the front is a really good sight!

I somewhat understand Ford getting dropped, but come on, Kuznetsov and Vermote should really have been in the first group

Maksimov just makes me laugh. What the hell was that? "Screw the sprint trains, I'm going solo 1.2kms out." His stubbornness is off the charts.
Also, nice to see Domene get in the breakaway and Fraile avoid the split.

Great to get an unexpected win in this race, through would've been nice if our train had worked better

Looks like another wash of a race for us. No use dwelling on it I guess. Appo is clearly affected by the crash, and Ranneries seems more confused than anything.

Nope. Ford got dropped as the first, iirc, and he did spend the day solo for most of the time. Might even have a screenshot of him, but I'm not sure

I suppose that is sort of an improvement, but I'd still really like Li Cicero to soon start remembering what he did in sprints last year.
Good to see Paillot not losing time at least so the work was worth it in terms of damage do be to some other TT'ers

Very good stage by Watson. A little pity that he couldn't follow Barbin in the final, but at least he managed a rather good 4th place. Nice to see my former rider Andre Steensen with a big ride here, suddenly one of the big favourites.
All my TT guys got dropped rather massively, so just stage glory to focus on for them. In the GC I reckon Olsson, Gillett and Watson should all score some points.
Nice to be in the youth jersey after the stage. Watson and Yates should be relatively equally good, while I don't know about the rest. Would be very cool if he managed to hold on to it.
Isostar look set for another very good race here, wouldn't be surprised if they are the first (?) team to pass the 2000 mark after this race.
Thanks for the report, tsmoha!

I love to see Barbin winning, and also to see the Isostar depth in that second group and below! Ignatiev looks too good now though unless Cornu or maybe Viennet has an awesome day, but I hope for Navardauskas to surprise and for Brandle and the riders ahead in lime to do well
Shame for Sergent though, not exactly his forte though
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Some interesting stages and efforts from my riders here and potentially very important. Bouhanni almost managing to get the win in that first stage and followed it up with a decent 8th. Lobato somehow finishing 2nd in that 3rd stage and taking a GC lead which is just awesome even though it probably won't last long! Disappointing that Cornu lost time but I still hope for a good GC.

Decent day for Simon, he'll pick up an ok U25 result. Ricki i vaguely hoped would hang in a little better but it was always a long shot. Still got enough chance to grab a stage win out of here and something of a GC finish. Fingers crossed

Bigger gaps than I had hoped for there. The wind probably helped a bit i suppose.
Still Paillot did decently and still has a shot at a solid GC with a strong TT. Also Pökälä and Arissol in position to deliver fine GC's if they avoid bad days.
Now for Lo Cicero to take that stage win tomorrow!

Didn't expect that much carnage, Van Asbroeck missed a big opportunity here.
