Holy moly, what a nailbiter this Vuelta is. Turning closer with each passing stage. Dombo is cool, but hopefully Schleck can turn this around in his last big GT. Smile

Olivier annoys me for years already.

You just would love to have him in your team. Wink

Fantastic stage this one for my team. A pity Olivier missed the stage win but what an incredible effort. Helping Andy in the end to gain another ~10-20s. Will be interesting to see if those can make the difference tomorrow. Pfft

Keizer also with a good stage for once. Not overperforming but according to his stats I`d say.

Even Koep as 44th today had a good day. Not sure why he was chasing and in the end this might have cost Olivier the win, but doesn`t matter now.

I fear PCM tomorrow thinks 13th is too high for another attack and hence I expect Andy and likely also Egger/Hughes to pass Olivier again in the KoM fight. But at least he gave it a very nice fight.

Would say 11th/13th is just fine and we should end here. But I fear I will lose 1-2-3 spots again as those downhill mountain finishes often didn`t end to my favour.

Schleck will win this GT, and it won't even be his last

Ohh what a way to make things tense. Over time Schlecks REC should win him the race, and probably will. But down to one last go makes it very interesting indeed. Dombrowski will become the next generation of Schleck together with Herklotz. What a reign those two will have....

Happy with Lecuisinier here. As ever so ofte nothing interesting on the stage, but keeping the important riders behind is good. For a brief moment I could feel Kritskiys spot becoming open for the final mountainstage, but he clawed everything back.

That's the theory, but all evidence suggests that Dombrowski has recovered better.

Things have progressed quite interestingly. After the first half of the race, Schleck seemed very cool on what as supposed to be a sure victory. But step by step Dombrowski has managed to get back in contention to a degree where he looks realistically frightening. Looking forward to the next stages.

Good to see Machado claw back a few more seconds from Kritskiy. Both look good to take the 5th place, this is nerve-wracking.

Brambilla finally does something. Too bad he didn't get the stage win, but I can't be too unhappy with Haig taking it.

The bad start of the race for Lecuisinier ended up costing him the battle for 5th, but 7th was the goal before the race, and we reached it (baring any stupid crashes/splits on the final stage).

Unsurprisingly Andy Schleck reclaims the lead and thus the win. It was a very exciting finale though, and while I was rooting a bit for the underdog, I can absolutely accept that Schleck has won this race. The team was build well around him, he rode aggressive (for most parts) and effectively secured his team a top spot in the PT rankings - And it is where Vesuvio belongs imo.

For our own situation, we would have liked Lecuisinier to stay in the group infront of him to get one last good stage result. These 7-10th places doesn't really give us anything in terms of catching the teams infront, but 7th is obviously OK when seeing two strong riders going for the early attack and sticking to it.

Huge congrats to tsmoha for finally getting that Haig attack and win your so badly sought for. 2 stagewins and 13th in the GC is much much better than could have been anticipated pre-race imo, so that must be a good feeling.

Also finally Guldhammer gave it a go. Way too late to make amends, but atleast picking up some points.

A final congrats to Wiesenhof and Egger for a stunning KOM fight. To win that one ahead of Schleck and Dombrowski is quite the feat. Especially from such a weak (relatively speaking) rider. He is well worth his pay already.

Banana Banana Banana Banana Banana

Jack Haig, you amazingly awesome beauty of a rider Smile

Exactly what I was begging for so long. After his rather unlucky attempt two days ago, I just had minor hopes for him succesfully getting away today. And he did. The gaps were always so comfortable, that I really had a good read this time. Maybe would have been nice to get a further picture from the sprint, but ofc I won't really complain about reports. All that matters, is Jack Haig winning Smile I will celebrate this for a long time. ManGame, be aware!

13th in his first GT as a leader is simply fantastic. If he avoids any drama in S21. Also some minor but nice points for 3rd in the U25 competition. Finally someone who counters an Olivier Pfft

Awesome. Best victory in my MG career. I swear. Jack. Haig!

Shame we lost the GC due to 2 horribly bad days... Would have challenged for the win if these bad days were better, like the final 3 days, but it was not to be... Sure, a stage win and a podium finish are fun and all, but this most certainly means relegation, and that's a bit sad...

What a showdown up front! Congrats to Vesuvio.

Arndt lost to Haig but overtook Olivier, good ride again being aggressive, but this time not cracking completely to finish with 81 climbers once again. I'm really happy with how this GT turned out for him.

Mike Aaron Egger, our old Puma rider from the early days, winning a GT KoM jersey is just incredible. Great job! (and sorry for cutting you back then, you obviously deserved a chance)

No crashes in the last stage please, and maybe Arndt can get in the mix again to end on a high note.

Sometimes PCM is just too predictable when the same mechanics appear in 2nd/3rd week GTs. Pfft

Basically spot on yesterday.

Egger winning KoM due to not being too high in GC. Also Andy ahead now.
Olivier not attacking as 13th is too high.
Olivier hence dropping 2 spots behind Haig and Arndt. Later actually a bit annoying.

Regarding the outcome. 11th and 15th is absolutely fine for my team even though I sometimes didn`t like how they performed.

2 stage wins by Groenewegen is huge with 3 more podiums.

Win total is unfortunately 1-2 lower than I hoped for with Keizer underperforming in the ITT, Olivier having twice bad luck with being caught late and Groenewegen`s 3-5 missed chances.

So tomorrow now please no crashes by anyone and hopefully Groenewegen taking the final sprint. Fear it will be break or Egger though. But maybe my team for once again giving him a leadout. Dumoulin out only should still see enough riders.

Regarding the top guys. Big win for Schleck today. Gapping the others and hence taking back the lead. Might not have been the strongest really this Vuelta and I might have hoped for Dombrowski really. But both had a fantastic Vuelta and no matter who, both would have earned it.

And congrats tsmoha. Cool win by Haig today. Think with two stage wins you also had a nice Vuelta and a great GC as well for Haig. Nice to have those kind of 2nd tier climbers like him, Arndt, Olivier, Preidler, Goos, Keinath etc.

Mike Aaron Egger! So close to selling him this season as I didn't expect anything from him! KoM jersey here is amazing! He was in break after break, never winning but always stealing KoM points, and then picks up the jersey on the last day!

Congrats to SN for the overall, congrats to tsmoha for the stage win

Thanks for all the congratulations. I had hoped Preidler would go for the KoM in this race, but quite happy with Egger

What a signing he would've been in the CT Pfft
