Only one opportunity left. Please try to attack Velits. And stage win maybe? Come on. It's christmas after all

Well that's a very standard TT, with no big surprises there I guess - I hope you're taking notes Jacob! Alarcon reviving himself and showing everyone who's going to win this. Congrats dev!
Galta still stands taller in the fight for the best of the rest of the rest Reis is obviously saving himself for the most heroic of stages tomorrow.
Despite the race having been decided for ages, tomorrow should be an epic day.
Thanks for the comprehensive and knowledgeable report SN.

Good stage by Galta, climbing like a genuine top 10 rider in this race Climbing past Talansky in the GC could also be key, as I can imagine them finishing on the same time on the upcoming Queen stage. Speaking of which, I can only second Gustavovskiy. Hopefully that proves to be an epic stage. Fingers crossed Galta tries something crazy as well, let's say a breakaway on the first mountain Or at least it would be nice to see us try to put Nesset in the early move and not Stake Laengen, as he shouldn't be strong enough to fight for the stage, if the breakaway is allowed to do that.
And another stamp of authority from Alarcon, it's brilliant to see him this Giro, and I must say I enjoy it as well, as it brings back some great memories from the 2012 season when he was key to our promotion to the PT.
Thank you for a brilliant MTT report too, SN! |

That was an amazing TT report SN! Thanks!
Alarcon again in control of the race. Only a disaster between him and the Giro crown + winning all secondary classifications

Great report SN, thanks for that.
About as expected for Bongiorno, so it's all about tomorrow now.
3 minutes on Nibali will still require a good effort to keep, but 5 minutes on Galta etc. just has to be enough to at the very minimum achieve our sponsor goal here.

Another fantastic performance by Alarcon. The win here means points jersey is all but secured aswell, which is another great bonus
Also an important step towards the KoM jersey, but I need a strong break to hinder Majka catching him tomorow, as he will undoubtly try his best to join the break.
Whats also really important for me is seeing the great form of Carapaz continue this final week. He could be vital in the hopefully epic stage tomorrow!
Superb MTT report aswell SN, much appreciated!

In my dreams I had hoped the TT stat would counted more but anyway decent from Abal but letting Cattaneo scarly close in the GC now.
He should be able to climb past Bongiorno, if he can avoid a melt down. |

A better performance by König, after some disappointing positioning and losses on the previous hill and mountain stages. Holding on to a Top 10 is a tough ask from here - and would likely require more of a boring stage, which isn't really what we want to see.
And will it be a boring stage?
Well, on average I've taken just under 60 screenshots per stage throughout the Giro. For Stage 20, I took 244 screenshots.
Now to make sure I find the time to write a report, so it can be a present to you all tomorrow!

Stage 20 was always going to be a massacre. I pray that Morton benefits from his superior STA and REC. But any weakness and bad daily form will destroy you. Oh well. I second cio: don't ruin my christmas. It's too busy anyway, so I would need a nice present from PCM at least.

2nd again. Was really hoping this could be the stage after the checkpoint, but Alarcon is just an amazing rider, congrats dev. Hopefully Velits will stay in form for the last mountain stage, should be a great spectacle.
And also big thanks to SN, another superb quality report. And also hoping that König will be able to keep his top 10 place after the next stage, would be a great result for him.

Stellar MTT report.
It's a shame Sosnitskiy got injured. That's definitely a big factor in us losing ground on the team ranking. Now that Formolo has gradually dropped down to 18th in GC (almost 24 minutes behind the leader) I feel like stage 20 would be an excellent opportunity for him to join the early break and win back some time that way. If he doesn't, I hope at least Kruijswijk or Konrad does.
Merry christmas guys!

Good MTT by Cattaneo, his rec seems to help him now. Hopefully that carries on into the next stage. Awesome report btw

Siskevicius waiting on Potts on that mountain stage
I'm hoping that Vosekalns can at least climb back into the top 50.
Thanks for all those nice reports!

Very happy that Henao managed to win stage 18. Seems like it was a more passive stage where he was at the front at the right time. Gaps were rather small so didn't help him get closer to the podium. The MTT was similar to most mountain stages with Alarcon, Velits and Morton all stronger.
Will be very tough to jump one of them for the podium but seems like the final mountain stage will be a great one so who knows.
Also hope we can keep the team lead. Will need another break of Shushemoin or a good stage from Maillet for that.

Pretty epic stage and report. Too bad Guarnieri missed the time limit but given his sprints so far, it may be better if Marzuki ends up going in the botd. Gratz to the Giro win, Dev.

Damn , Lövkvist Would have been some nice pts if he could hang on to top 30 no nothing from him
I´m glad Abal could go ahead of Bongiorno espacially now that Cattaneo passed him.
But Abal have done a great Giro so far and will make our top 10 goal with good margine if he does not crash on the last stage
Also nice that Ahlstrand and Vedel Kvist did make the timelimit can Ahlstrand take a huge comeback and take the win on the last stage?
Brilliant report as usual SN!
Happy Christmas everyone! |
