This is brutal, and Alarcon seems to not be affected, really. Congratulations again, dev!
Another encouraging stage by Galta, again gapping most of the climbers that should be worse. The fight for a top 10 overall looks like it will be pretty tense for the whole race, meaning he can't afford another day like the first mountain stage. Hopefully he is done with bad days, and continue to improve from here.
And what a report, SN! An epic stage, that was also very well covered. |

Alarcon on his own level, top 2 looks like expected before the race now
Cattaneo seems to settle at 7/8 now, not a bad result from him with 2 days in the jersey and a stage win. I feel the ones in front of him will be really hard / not possible to beat, just hope he can keep the guys behind him where they are.

What an almost perfect stage for my team, but a perfect report! Superb quality, big thanks SN. Even a really nice excel graph, just amazing.
This is almost like a roller-coaster. Really poor first mountain stage, but since there, Velits is beasting. Perfect coop job with Alarcon to gain a huge amount of time on all of his competitors for the podium. Insanely good to see Velits with such a big advantage over 4th place, things are suddenly looking really bright for us. Still a long way to go, but so far this is surely the best GT ever for my team GC wise.
Congrats again dev. Unless something extraordinary happens Alarcon now surely takes that jersey home.

Glad to see the reports are being enjoyed - thanks for all the comments on them.
The race isn't going well for Vesuvio, particularly frustrating to see Konig lose so much time on the final descent - and to be down in 17th, a good few minutes lower than I'd hoped. The team really needs to get in more breakaways, to start earning some points out of the race.

Another pathetic sprint performance by Coquard. He really delivers shit when being one of the best sprinters.
Kastrantas constantly picking the worst possible stages to attack, but atleast he tries. If we can continue to send a rider into the breaks we might actually land 5-10 points from it.

Breakaway today with Villella. Nice but not the best stage for it. Hopefully he tries again on hillier terrain.
4th in the sprint by Groenewegen is absolutely fine. Alongside his 2 wins and for the moment 3rd in the point category, this is more than a success for him. Without any support even and this might explain him getting blocked in the end which avoids to reach more.
Thanks for yet another report SN. Like how they come very consistent and in perfect time to read in lunch break. Unfortunately mainly read the Giro from mobile only hence not having as good view on all the pics as I would have liked. e.g. here the sprint itself was very well covered and shows the moment Groenewegen getting blocked. Definitely need to find time for non mobile re-read at some time. |

Just been Hiking in the mountains of Asia for a week to come back to 8 reports is a fantastic effort SN and all of them are a fantastic read as well
To start with Howard has had a great time of things two wins and a podium (first Giro wins for RBC) is a really good return and he seems to be one of the fastest and when he gets a lead out like in the last stage he has won convincingly very happy with his performance
Onto Rosskopf who has been active throughout and seems intent on going for the valuable KOM hopefully this could lead to a stage win in one of the medium mountain stages to really turn this from a good into a great GT for us.
Great to see how our squad has developed this year from needing Phinney to perform and having no one else in races to having riders who can affect the race without having Phinney here
Last of all thanks for the epic reports SN
And congrats to all the winners so far especially Hugo Boss who are flying! |

Always nice to see former riders winning. Congrats jt.
A bad stage for Vesely, but some stages like this have to be expected in this sprint competition.

At least Holst Enger is consistent, just a pity it's around 10th place
Congratulations on another win, jt! Some of those teams not tipped to be among the best when everything is counted at the end of the season do very well here. Should be interesting to see how it will actually impact the rankings. |

FML, Guarnieri is so worthless. Unbelieveable. This was supposed to be the GT where we'd do sorta ok but literally, it can't get any worse with his utterly apatethic racing. I am so annoyed with this whole GT, only brigthside is Marzuki and Hermans in the breaks now and then, getting my hopes up for some potential good stage result.. all in vain.

@jt congrats for this win, Howard is impressive so far...
Hiking in asia sounds amazing, hope you had a great time!
(I was meant to go to Africa and hike Kilimanjaro in febrauary, but due do the head concussion I got in summer and following PCS I needed to call of that trip )
Are we gonna f'ck up Abals GC place by tired him out on those flat stages where Ahlstrand dont even win, but atleast his first podium is good!
Just thinking how those earlier stages would have been if not Kragh Andersen crashed on stage 3. A better sprint train for us and better chance for Ahlstrand to deliver.
Not a big deal but how did Monsalve earn 1 second on Abal in stage 12?
Or more how did Abal loose 1 second, ´cause Cattaneo on those under him got one second closer. Just realized the same happend with Kolesnikov but he was one seconds behind Oliver now the same time. |

Festina on a run!
Hadn't really expected a Morton move here, but maybe a bit more action in those hill stages would be the only chance to hurt Alacorn on a bad day. Obviously, this wasn't the best day for it though. Dyball should have go with the winning move

Good stage for Festina and Vesuvio. Must have been a bit underwhelming watching Kirsh being outsprinted by Vasilyiv. Should be enough to quench SotD's thirst for a meaningful result. Congratulations!
