Repsol the flat classic team another close call for them there, very nice to see. Also great for Kulczyk and Havik, big win there! For us dissapointing, 8th isn't good enough and so a bad couple of races here from Clarke. Onodera making the breakaway is nice though
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

The worst sprinting team to have ever been in MG scoring a huge load of points from this couple of flat classics
Same race scenario here in Barcelona as in GOR, a late attack from one of our strong flat riders - this time Kneisky - and again caught within the final km. A shame that he couldn't hold on for a top 5 place like Gilbert did in GOR, but he still end with 8 more points than expected from this race

We sure know how to get into the breaks without doing anything else...

First of all, thanks jph and SN for the reports, lovely as always!
And secondly,
Havik taking Barcelona makes up for a big doughnut in Australia! Strange that Bennett is not being used at all in these sprints, but no worries, Havik can have some of that

Have to disagree here. I think you can be fairly happy with two Top-10 results from Clarke, who isn't exactly a stand-out sprinter obviously, he could have done better particularly in the GORC, but at least he hadn't a non-show.
Anyway. William Ford with another good ride, he's just a lovely little rider to have
Repsol with another show, this time with less success, but still a nice result. Thanks for the report!

Seeing how my team is performing in this type of races, i'm really sad to see that there's only one more in my calendar, and is Paris-Tours (in September). Anyway, Kneisky will be there, despite being firstly planned to be in Britain, but after a mistake with one loanie (who i thought could ride Avenir) had to change him to ride Tours to let that loanie to ride in Britain. And with the race being over 230 km, i'm confident that he will make the move again there, and hopefully a more succesfull one.
Btw, congrats to Booker for this great win and thank SN for the report. You should keep doing CT races if you "make" my team to perform like here or Tachira

Damn, always bad to see a rider you wanted during the transfer season snatching a win. Grats though Booker
Most CT teams will have a week off now. See you guys in Trentino. |

I'm feeling depressed - after all these breakaways the highest result is just 28th. In moments like these you ask yourself why it happened. And breakaways don't bring you points (bummer) - otherwise my team last yeay would've been the king of breakaways in CT. And getting peanuts points for finishing 5th in a stage, you know the season is bad.
Maybe I am bad at decision making, but gotta do something with the availlable resources. Now that I've seen Bole (expected more from here seriously), now let's see Belkov in Poland. But one thing is for sure - for next season (if there's one for me) there must be a drastic shift in the direction of my team

Really appreciate seeing the two former Evonik Latvians so close to the front. Makes following CT races more interesting

Ford definitely helped us here with two consistent finishes, and so ensured we didnt get a 0 pts score for this race I think. Very disappointed in Rowe, for a race he's previously got a top 10 in, to completely burst in the sprint was very disappointing.
In balance it was a good two races for us and I'm looking forward to a good season ahead!

Two top 10s, 11th and 16th. I can't complain with those positions after not really featuring in the final sprint. A lot better than what we managed at Great Ocean! Leezer with a decent effort in the middle but it didn't work out. Bogda did well to pull us back to the attackers in the final kilometer and still nearly managed a top 10. Our prediction of Kreder being more powerful than Krieger here proved to be true. I marvel at the former's consistency for the moment
Congrats Booker on another win and thanks SN for the report!

Congratulations go to Maxime and Booker, but how did we get a seventh?

Salleh coming home in 2nd in Valencia aws an amazing result, it's a shame to have just missed out on the win, he took our first ever one day win last year and almost doubled up to give us our second in a classic that I feared might be a little bit tough for him and result in a weaker sprint.
Safe to say he proved me wrong and delivered big time.
Congrats to Havik and Booker on the win, he picked the perfect time to come out of Granjel Cabrera's slipstream there.
