Great effort by Bardet. For some time I thought he had it sown up. But the climb was just a bit too long for him. It'll be a hard fight for him to keep the podium spot now, with Cataldo breathing down his neck. I can easily see him lose 2-3 places on stage 10. Finally saw Battaglin being useful in this race. Better late than never.
Congrats Kentaurus . The last stage should be a cracker!

Well that defintely could've gone better. At 4th in the GC at one point, but then some unnecessary time loss
Anyway, 10th is still okay.
Thanks for the great reports! |

Absolutely lyrical with the way my team did in every aspect: Sprints, breakaways and even Anacona attacking in a hilly stage. This pretty much means that I have something to look out for in every race. Now for a good finish in Australia and my January couldnt've been better.
Greats to Aquarius and the other major point scorers, specially Azteca with their relatively weak lineup.
Thanks for the reports, I loved the quantity. Took a while for the season to start, but if that means reports will keep rolling in like this I'd be more than fine with that. |

Whole new level of respect for Bardet after this race! Couldn't have asked for more. Top 10 expectation massively overachieved with a podium. Nearly caught Mannion there and managed to hold off a stronger Cataldo. Impressive stuff
To add to that points picked up for high positions in KOM and Points plus the Per stage win. Even Battaglin managed to drag himself into the points. Nice attack from Ruijgh on the last stage too
Congrats Telia for the stage win and a huge congratulations to Aquarius for a dream start in MG!
Thanks SN for the great reports

Valls proved me wrong then
Deserved winner afterall and quite a bummer for Penasa. Of course Bennett as well, but obviously for different reasons.
Robert Power finished his first pro race for the GC winner, so I'm happy with his result. As probably one of the first domestiques to work, he did well enough with his Top-100 result.
Thanks for some outstanding reports, SN! Not sure, if I did comment on it already, but I see you have some "love" for the U25 competition (being part of the preview as well). Nice work.

OH YEEES!
We needed a third place in the stage and we got it! Incredible! We also got a 1-minute gap, but it doesn't matter now.
After yesterday's messed-up, Valls has proven today why we are paying so much money to him. Scoring over 100 points in a C2 by himself puts him in a commanding lead in the Individual Rankings. Right now the team is also first in the Team Rankings, but with Great Ocean coming up, not likely to be first in the January rankings update.
Win Goal - ACHIEVED. And now we'll move onto the "easier" goals, so with this, the chances to achieve our 5 goals are really high
Thanks all for your words, and SN for the fantastics reports!

Can't complain with this race, the thought of winning obviously sticks, but Mannion and my guys were never really supposed to be in the hunt for a GC win here. Just doing a little bit of point collecting would have been fine, and they did plenty of that with two stage wins, and a 2nd place overall.
Congrats to Valls, a very deserving winner of the race.

Hated the route but the racing was excellent to provide an entertaining race to read (good reports!)
Valls proved to be the man to beat in the mountains. Congrats for a nice victory for Repsol.
Mansion surprised me a lot, big race for him and very important for Aztecs that their 3rd leader performed when racing alone.
Philips has been everywhere throughout the race. Brilliant race by them and I can't wait to see how well they will do the rest of the year
Small mistake in the stage 10 results: Cataldo races for Campari and not for Berg.
Telia finishes with some excellent depth - 3 guys in the top 16 is great work for the team.
Disappointment of the race for me: Penasa. Expected more from him and I 9th place doesn't feel right for him. Also Bennett. His crash ruined the race for him
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Valls proving to be the best in the end, congrats Aquarius! Great race for Azteca as well, looking good for a quick return to the PCT when they do that good without theit best riders.
Oh, and some surprisingly good points for Berg, I see

Big time problems for 3 of my favourite teams here in Xero, Balkan and Kulczyk, all for different reasons. Hope to see them coming back stronger!
Congrats to Aquarius, the big wage pays off for now!

Wonderful race to open my first season, content with the result but it is not that, it was just so exiting from start to finish. Congratulations to everyone who bring home a piece of bacon.
Thanks to SN for the reports.

Alessandro, you're forgiven for cracking on the ninth stage. What a race!
Brilliant result for us with the team classification win, stage win, Top 10 on GC and plenty of stage Top 10s as well.
Great reports from SN too- all in all, the future looks bright.
