No thread started for a couple of years so I thought I'd start a new one for this years comp.
Good start for the English teams. Their combined record is currently played 15, Won 11, Drawn 4, Lost 0 and all 5 are top of their group (Spurs joint top with Real having drawn in Madrid).
We might get a couple of teams into the quarter finals this year

it is about time after those awful years
German football seems like they decided to take a year off Europe Dortmund a decent Europa League candidate, Munich possibly a Semifinal, Leipzig capable of some surprises. Nothing more. Missing Leverkusen, Schalke and Wolfsburg in Europe.

The English teams march on.
Couple of recent finalists in Dortmund and Athletico are going out and some big teams like Munich, Real and Juventus don't look to be as strong as in recent years.
Is it all shaping up for PSG this year?

Although I always preferred Real over Barca, I have to agree. I have to admit that I never really follow the Champions League that closely because it's so hard for any of the smaller teams to make the finals, but I'd really like to see Tottenham upstage the big names of Real, Bayern, Man U, etc.

Without the video referee in the European Competitions, it is more than likely to see those big teams being carried along like they usually do. Would love to see underdogs like City, PSG, Tottenham all find their way to the semi-finals instead of the usual Bayern/Real/Barça. Ugh. |

The chance of having 75% of the Last 16 being from the Top 4 leagues (Spain, England, Germany and Italy) is highly likely. City, Bayern and Tottenham have already qualified with Real, Barca, Juventus, Roma, Chelsea and United are 95% certain for qualification. And the remaining 25% would likely be:
PSG (France)
Besiktas (Turkey)
Porto (Portugal) or Monaco (France
Basel (Switzerland) or CSKA Moscow (Russia)
There could be some qualifications that could change the proportion either way - Shakhtar Donetsk is 6 points ahead of Napoli, Spartak Moscow is within a distance from Liverpool and Sevilla and RB Leipzig could leapfrog Porto and Monaco.

You won't need to participate in it anymore

They've been shocking all year. Absolutely no pace anywhere in the squad. Real danger of going down as they have nothing going forward and their defence is very weak.

You have hit the nail on the head, our defence is too old now and not replacing Lukaku was the biggest gaff ever |

How can Moreno start every game instead of Roberson.
Just came home in half time from work to see second half.
I took not many minutes before Moreno takes an unnecessary free kick and Moreno is a bit passive on the first area and boom Sevilla scores 1-3 goal.
Hope it does not get exciting now... |

And a few minutes later Moreno causes a penalty...
2-3. |
