Solid, though a bit shaky train - probably we had to use a bit too much energy reeling in the break leaving our train a bit fatigued as could also be argued for Orange. It will be good to get Aaltio back next year to make the beast-work on the flat.
Good to see that Lo Cicero gets a train and Manninen also doing a decent job - and wonderful to have a lead sprinter in a NC-jersey making him so easy to spot
Great report also.

The goal of the victory was not achieved, but I am still quite satisfied with Silvestre's fourth place. Flat stat seems to have played an important role in this race and with 78 Silvestre had advantage over better sprinters than he. I hope this is the first of many good results for Silvestre. I would like to have a few more cyclists in the right places but only Bauer was able to do that.
Crongrats to spar and thanls for the great preview and report

Send 4 sprinters, best rider is outside the Top25 and is a cobbler... moving on...

0 points is a great start to open the season. We need more minor points from races like this to avoid relegation...

I'm sure it'll get better soon
If we always get Aubrey Plaza gifs after your team fails, I gotta admit I wouldn't mind more crashes...

What's the point of bringing a sprint train if only 1 rider actually bothers to show up in front and help Holloway? At least we got our top-10, but most of the team was quite bad.

Quite worrysome that Guerao looks this strong already considering the major upgrade to the sprinter field this season. The bigger sprint classics will be quite intense for sure. Gratz with the win

Interesting to see Bohli do so well, I think he must have been part of Guerao's winning leadout judging by the finishing positions of his teammates, so I guess he has got off to a good start at his loan home for the season. Hopefully he can keep being so helpful to them throughout the whole season.

Wow what a pleasant surprise for me to come back to, Thanks for all the congrats! In the 4 seasons I'm now part of the game, I have 3 times won my opening race, but haven't won much else. The Vuelta a Tachira 2015 was still my last race win before this race.
I never had a top sprinter, so I think this was the first time my team built a leadouttrain. I'm happy it is already working out so well. I was even more surprised to see the train after Daniel and Suryadi already lost contact, as they were supposed to be a major part of it. Luckily our loanee Tom Bohli stepped up impressively and pulled Guerao to the front.

Awesome strategy! Daniel took out two big opponents and Guerao finishes it off.
Yeah that was the plan.
I hope Daniel has already used up his badluck considering crashes and won't crash anymore in races it really matters he stays on his bike.
Congrats to anyone else who had a successful race, especially Indosat in 2nd.
Thanks jph, it was a great report to read! |

He indeed was very helpful after I lost two riders of my planned leadout. Look at how he pulled Guerao and his final leadout Haidar Anuawar to the front:
In the first picture Bohli is already in front of the other two but the train is still badly placed, in the second picture Bohli is still leading the leadout but has pulled them in a much better position. Guerao has to be very grateful, Bohli and Haidar Anuawar lead him out perfectly. |

In what can be considered to be Van Asbroeck's worst race profile this year, a 6th place is very good. I would actually be happy if disaster hasn't struck on the other side of Australia..
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Well... disappointing, but Kennaugh will hopefully bounce back in the more demanding races.
Bit worried about my team's attempt to make a sprint train. Kennaugh would probably be better off by following other sprinters |
