Too bad someone else wanted to sign Samu too, I had hoped he could retire at the team where he first started out

Not sure if this is the right time to have this discussion, but since I thought about it, I might as well post it here before I forget the details...
I have been thinking of a way to 'refurbish' Steals in the ICL for the coming seasons so that the managers losing riders have a cushion to the shock of extremely high bids.
Right now, a manager making a steal attempt just pays the wage of the rider that they've offered if they're successful and the manager losing the rider comes out of it empty handed. I propose that there should be a money-split in this case.
Firstly, steal attempts should be mandatorily made to be a maximum of 25% (exact percentage can be thought of later) higher than current wage. This is to ensure that steal attempts don't raise a rider's wage through the roof.
On a successful steal attempt, the stealing manager pays the wage of the rider, same as it was in the past season, but the extra that he offered will go to the previous manager. If the current manager decides to keep the rider, it is business as usual in renewals.
For example, Let's say I have Porte on 1000 wage (not his actual wage, just considering). Now, Groupo Argos-Quala want to make a steal attempt on him.
Maximum bid -> 1250 (1000 + 25% of 1000)
I do not want to pay what Porte asks for in the renewals, so I let him go.
Porte wage at Groupo -> 1000
Money received by me -> 250 (plus the budget freed up by Porte leaving)
The logic behind proposing this is to ensure that money being spent on a rider comes back into the transfer market for further buys. Also, the cap of 25% on the steal attempts will hopefully prevent a situation like this time wherein some managers where severely limited after deflecting steal attempts.
I know this will be a little more headache on Bikex's part and I will not impose anything on him, as he does enough for the game already. But just a thought...

It's a good idea, but I think the system works how it is. The idea of compensation is certainly worth thinking about, since that extra budget space doesn't always result in getting a similar quality rider back in to the "stolen from" team.
The cap on steal attempts doesn't really seam right for me, since any steal attempts always allow for the rider accepting a lower amount to stay at his old team. If the manager thinks it's too much to pay he can let the rider go, and the stealing team will be left paying more than what the original manager was unwilling to pay.
Off-topic, but with transfers done I'll finally do a proper team update in the next few days.

IMO current system actually works well, however it actively encourages stealing and manipulation of sorts because there's little penalty. Meanwhile, investing into longevity and quality of a rider through AoD, potential increase, scouting and most importantly training is not protected well enough. Loyalty as a bonus is imo not the same as active investment by the way.
IMO, it opens up the door to freeloaders and vulturing because you can get a rider for a risky bid, which then a) puts the other manager at a disadvantage who b) may have invested already significantly into training, scouting or years of development. so there are a lot of past costs that one may just totally ignore by stealing.
If the invested money of the respective manager could be included as a entry barrier to new managers, this would significantly help.

I'm anyways going to think over some changes for the steals already, your ideas are very welcome and I'll consider them when making a decision

As you can see some teams still need a rider, Carbonsports also need to fill their development team. Riders can still be signed by the FCFS principle. Just post in this thread the riders you want to sign together with their ID. The wage paid to the rider equals his minimum wage. |

Anyone with PCM15 able to help me put together races? Most will stay the same as last season, but it would be great to get some input on some variants to use. |
